Came to try the best burrito in Southern California. Was very happy I did. We got there around 4:30 PM. Sign said closed for rest of day, temporary sold out. We started to leave. A nice really warm and friendly woman came to the door, smiled and said we would like to feed you but we only have Cabeza. I have lived in Southern California for 60 years. Of course Mexican food is a staple of mine. I knew what Cabeza meant (head)but I did not know, exactly, what we were going to eat. I thought it was brains also. I was wrong. After she explained to me what cabeza was I told her to feed us anything they wished we trusted them and we will try any of their food. They gave us a burrito and four tacos. The food was absolutely delicious and worthy of its rating. The burrito was huge. Me and my 21-year-old son left with big smiles on our faces, totally stuffed, tried cabeza for the first time and we are both sure will become a regular on our menus.
Joliza’s Tacos was a truly southern California cultural experience for me. Southern California is comprised of extreme ethnic diversity. I’ve lived in California Southern California for 60 years. We are Korean. We eat Mexican food regularly. Being invited into this Mexican restaurant when they were technically closed, and being treated like we were family put a warm feeling in my heart that I will...
Read moreI loved this place. I found them via Google Maps as they have great reviews. My whole Family was amazed at how good the food was. We tried the Menudo, quesadillas, tacos de asada/pastor/cabeza. We algo got an asada burrito. PLEASE give the taquitos de papa a try!!! They were a favorite among the family. The workers were also very friendly. It was 8 of us and we took up the whole restaurant lol. So be aware that sitting is minimal. They have about 4 chairs outside as well. I wouldn’t mimd this at all ir eating in my car as the food is worth it. 10/10. I will be eating here next time Im in town. Oh and the horchata is also very tasty!!!
P. S. They also gave us extra taquitos for free. I think they saw how much...
Read moreMy husband and I came here together. We got a carne asada torta and burrito. The portions were very generous! A lot of meat is in each dish! The carne is also like real carne asada, meaning grilled and then chopped up for the torta and burrito. Tasted so freaking delicious. We also got an horchata which tasted homemade and not the super sweet instant stuff most restaurants have these days.
I also got a side of beans because I'm basic like that. These are real cooked beans like from the pot! Again most Mexican restaurants just serve the canned stuff these days. They also tasted yummy, like yo momma made them lol Lastly, the guy who took our order was really nice and polite.
Anyways authentic spot, will...
