Upon doing some extensive research on Yelp and Google, my small crew and I stumbled upon this place. We triangulated our destination to Unified because we were in search of R&B/Funk music, a modern atmosphere, and, of course, Hookah!

We really enjoyed that there was ample seating, and they were all couches and sitting at the bar as well.

Service 5/5: Service was immaculate with super quick introductions from staff, the Dj also went around and interacted with everyone in the bar. Additionally, he played an abundance of retro funk hits that you might not hear normally while at any Lounge nowadays. Him playing the accompanying music videos for the songs was the icing on the cake as well. Very cool.

Prices 4/5:

Drink prices were fair ( we really enjoyed the tastes and blends of both) and hookah was a bit expensive, but this is a Long Beach! The service for a Hookah was phenomenal, and we quite enjoyed it for the entirety of our three hours there.

Ambiance 5/5:

Unified does a really great job of showing off appreciation of black culture.

There were several murals throughout the small space that was indicative of that. Additionally, there were several games that you can play while relaxing ; we played connect for, and the retro classic Bop- It!

if you’re thinking about it, just go! From entry with the security guards to exit, the party was going, and everyone was in a good mood. Support Unified as your local hang out spot because I surely will whenever I return...

This is the BEST bar in LB in my opinion. Music, food, drinks and ambiance are always on point. This bar attracts a very nice crowd from the LBC to LA. Live music is on the weekends and let me tell you it’s all the way live. The owner Chuckie Miller is from LB. He opened this establishment to give his home town folks some place nice to go locally. And, he succeeded at that. He has put a lot of time, attention and love into his bar, and you can feel that positive energy upon entering. First time in Long Beach, California last week. I searched all over the internet for a bar in Long Beach with r&b and hip hop , let me tell you it was hard to find! But here we are! LB unified bar and lounge, looooved it! I went on a Tuesday night, it was taco Tuesday. Nice ambience, nice vibes, a bit of an older crowd -40s + but I still liked it! They should have their own chef and cook instead of having people from outside selling like the taco truck in the back. I’m giving 4 stars only because of that.
