Sunrise Donuts — Restaurant in Long Beach

Regrettably, our experiences at Sunrise Donuts have left us hesitant to return. Despite visiting about four times, the only consistency we've encountered is inconsistency. On a positive note, a gentleman who seems to be the owner stands out for his attentiveness and customer service focus. He even went out of his way to prioritize my kids' order, creating a positive impression initially.

However, subsequent visits have been less than ideal, largely due to the presence of a woman who consistently struggles with the card machine that is kept behind the counter. Her attempts to process payments as debit, coupled with a demand to be verbally told your card PIN, create a security risk and improper practice. Her overall demeanor towards customers becomes noticeably terse, escalating in frustration as orders come in. A simple clarification that they could run our debit card as credit without a PIN requirement resulted in an unexpected and disproportionate reaction with her tossing products around behind the counter causing her co-workers to have to intervene to even possibly get the transaction completed when we were ready to just leave and get donuts elsewhere after she was being especially nasty with us just before the outburst.

Despite these challenges, it's important to note that the bear claws and devil's food donuts at Sunrise Donuts are exceptional and stand out as some of the best we've had. There's hope that the owner can address the staffing issues to elevate this establishment into a true hidden gem in the Long Beach area. With improved customer service and a more seamless payment process, Sunrise Donuts has the potential to become a favored...

Love this spot! Especially since the owner offers so much in dairy free drinks, and she and the employees are super nice and so sweet!!! They have a drive-thru or walk-in service. Although, on some days, you may have to sit on the street waiting to pull into the driveway because the drive thru is so busy. (A testament to how good their stuff is) Parking in the lot can be a pain to get in and out of, which is also shared by surrounding residents. It's a great spot, all in all. I do wish that it was made clear, when I asked for 'Breakfast' sausage or turkey added to my 'Breakfast' Sandwich that they use (very thin) sliced Kielbasa/Polish sausage, and NOT 'Breakfast' sausage at all. Disappointingly, that wound up as a complete waste of money and uneaten. But, the drinks and donuts are still good, and everyone who works here is just wonderful. You aren't likely to be disappointed by choosing...

i havent been here in awhile, and oddly enough i always come for the food… always made with love, the girls they have working there are always so lovely and sweet. just tried the pastrami sandwich on a whim today, i wasnt terribly hungry and wanted something for later. i saw the girl loading my sandwich up with everything that is good and by the time i got home the sandwich was defeated in less than five minutes. the bread was delicious and fresh, crunch and soft, and the mark of goodness was the sprinkle of salt and pepper on top. this food reminds me of the food my grandmother used to make me in the best way. 10/10 stars will...
