Sat may 8th. A group of friends and I decided to meet at the grasshopper for some drinks to celebrate my good friendâs birthday. Unfortunately 30mins into enjoying our drinks we were having issues with one of the bartenders(Omar) over a pre loaded Visa card that a friend was trying to use to pay for 2 drinks. We didnât think it was a big deal as another bar up the street had just accepted it. Omar seemed to be personally insulted that we tried to use this card, after asking how much the 2 drinks were Omar decided to throw my receipt at me once he understood what we were asking. From that point Omar seemed to have it out for us the rest of the night, not sure why as we were being served by another bartender (canât remember his name but he was very professional) when more friends arrived they were let in by security with Bday gifts in hand , not even 5 mins went by after receiving the gifts only to have Omar creep up in the rudest way possible and demand we take the bday gifts outside âno presents allowedâ he yelled , a friend of mine simply asks âwhy he canât have them?â. Omar self proclaims himself the manager and takes this opportunity to have a power trip and have that person (party of 7) thrown out for a simple question. After this happened we (party of 7) decide to leave which was unfortunate because the drinks were good. I was fully prepared to spend upwards of 300$ that night for drinks, but thanks to Omars âprofessionalismâ or lack there of , he helped me (and the rest of the party) decide to take our money elsewhere . Itâs too bad because the bar itself is very good but is being dragged down by the rudest bartender...
Read moreI rolled up to this spot with my high end bicycle and asked if I could bring it in, note⌠they have a smoking patioâŚnope, said the security guard! WTH! 5k bike sitting out of view! Knahh, Iâll pass. Looks like a beautiful spot but not friendly to the vibe it gives off, around location parking is next to impossible plus they only have 3-4 parking spots on site and the neighborhood is straight up getto , I live a few block away! Cops are horrible around here to be behind a wheel of a car. I donât know⌠in my opinion place is not friendly to the community they are located in. I just went across the street to trademark brewery, no trippin or judging about the bike deal, literally walked in there and parked my bike on the wall indoors. Your choice of course. These guys lost some real local business. Before it was called fiesta bar and everyone was welcome, even went in there with some black cyclist homies and service was not denied; use to be a straight up paisa bar with foos wearing cowboy boots and hats deal. Now who knows what kind of clientele they accommodate. Bad service before you even walk in the door is the vibe I gotâŚgood luck on your...
Read moreThe bartenders were rude and possibly racist. Went to order drinks with different bartenders bc I thought the female bartender that first attended me was having a bad shift, but then the next bartender was still rude and threw the tab across me at the bar. I advised my friends to try the third bartender available, and yet again he was a nasty too. It was a Friday night and they were standing around idly, so Iâm sure wasnât related to being overwhelmed. Coincidentally enough, the whole team that night was white and my group of friends were Latino, and we all happened to be treated poorly. Bad night or not, these bartenders need an attitude check.
I will add that my first time going was a much more positive experience with a more personable and diverse staff of bartenders. This bar is cute and they have good drinks, but definitely not worth returning again after being disrespected when youâre trying to share a good time...
