I just had the worst experience I have ever had trying to get my Rx for Ozempic refilled by my Primary Care Doctor at the Long Beach Comprehensive Health Center (LBCHC)!
First of all, the receptionist, Liza, prevented me from speaking directly to my doctor's nurse ALL DAY from the first call I made at 10:00 am until my final call at 3:55 pm (they close at 4:00 pm) and only transferred me to his nurse after I told her iI wanted to speak to her supervisor! Each time I called--at 10:00 am, at 3:00 pm and at 3:55 pm she made it her mission to prevent me from talking to my doctor's nurse saying that she passed my message along and she refused to take any additional messages telling me that they had three working days to return my call! I needed to speak to my doctor TODAY to get my Rx TODAY, which was already a day LATE bc I should have taken my medication on THURSDAY but when I went to take my shot, I realized I was out of it bc the doctor had refilled my Rx for the first four weeks and ozempic is a medication where you taper UP, so he should have prescribed MORE medication to allow for the dosage increase for weeks 5-8 but he didn't do that so I ran out of the medication before I should have...!
So I had to call him back and request more medication, which he did call in to the pharmacy, however, he did not include the Diagnosis Code, which medi-cal requires to pay for the medication.
SO here I am COMPLETELY STRESSED OUT bc its FRIDAY and since my doctor did not put the Diagnosis Code on the original prescription that was faxed to my pharmacy, and thanks to that POWER-HUNGRY RECEPTIONIST, LIZA, at LBCHC, I wasn't able to get through to my Doctor's Nurse until 3:55 pm, and they close at 4:00 pm so CLEARLY there wasn't enough time for his nurse to give him my message before she left for the day to start her weekend...and I'm certain that the nurse LEFT BEFORE GIVING my primary doctor the message that he needed to send the diagnostic code to the pharmacy BC NO CODE WAS EVER RECEIVED FRIDAY NIGHT BY THE PHARMACY...so either he NEVER GOT THE MESSAGE FROM HIS NURSE (bc it's just some dumb patient who needs help and "screw her--she's not important!")... OR, the Doctor DID GET the message from his nurse and then CHOSE TO IGNORE IT BC AGAIN--"WHO CARES ABOUT SOME STUPID PATIENT'S NEEDS?? SCREW HER!!"
So they now cannot fill my prescription until MONDAY (assuming I can get thru to or get a message to my doctor on MONDAY!) bc it's FRIDAY!!! So now I'm FORCED TO WAIT AN ADDITIONAL 2 1/2 DAYS TO GET MY MEDS... UUGGGHHH!! SUCH FRUSTRATION!!
Needless to say I am completely frustrated and upset and unhappy with the RIDICULOUSLY INEPT and SHODDY patient care and customer service I have received both from LONG BEACH COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH CENTER.
So if you want to feel unimportant and be treated as if your needs for following up with your pharmacy for your Rxs are unimportant, then, by all means--sign up for this doctor's office and select this doctor as your primary care doctor... otherwise steer clear of this Long Beach health care provider!! It's not worth the stress and frustration-- I mean REALLY--I have NEVER been prevented from speaking to my doctor's nurse at any other doctor's office! And the lack of follow-thru with regard to Rxs--if it wasn't SO FLIPPING MADDENING--is just laughable!
This facility is a disgrace to the medical profession and they obviously have NO REGARD FOR PATIENT CARE or CUSTOMER SERVICE! JUST A HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY! SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND AVOID THIS FACILITY...
Read moreThe facility is clean overall I don’t like how the doctor office is unorganized. They don’t communicate with you on a date or time that fits you for upcoming check ups they just text you an appointment day and time and expect you to show up not knowing if you have to work or anything. Also the day and time that they text for upcoming appointment is different from online which is confusing they need to be more organized and should know the correct time and day the patient appointment is. Also out of all doctors office I’ve been to and had a physical getting one here is not really a physical. They don’t make you undress in a gown and don’t check your breast or anything. They just ask you questions and check your blood pressure which is a waist of time. For test results they’re the absolute worse. I had a UTI and the doctor didn’t even think to call me to let me know and when I reached out to her in the messaging she never responded so it took me 2 months to see her in an upcoming appointment to discuss the test results and the matter. Also when the doctor referred me to a specialist she never told me she was prescribing me medication I didn’t even know I had a prescription intel the specialist asked me have I been taking my medication. I was simply confused on to what medication because the doctor never discussed that with me. This medical office need to be more organized and they need better caring doctors who care about their patients and just not for the money. Regardless if it’s a county hospital or not some of us are not homeless or on drugs we just simply don’t have good medical insurance and we don’t deserve to be treated badly...

Dr.Gia Humelbaugh.. I was hit by a car on a motorcycle and had to explain and push multiple times about how I NEED physical therapy. She tried to recommend a chiro, they're not real doctors and have plenty of lawsuits against them for paralyzing people. I'm not trusting one with my very legit injuries. Then she tried telling me that physical therapists just teach you what to do at home. Ma'am, I've been in physical therapy before and I don't have any of the equipment they had at home. How do you expect me to ultrasound my own body at home to reduce the inflammation I have? Then she had me explain what damage I have to validate needing it. I have sciatic pain now! 22 with very real physical pain and limitations now. I'm not old and about to die. I can't live another 60 years with this pain and without any solution to it. And finally, she tried discouraging me from getting my referral because the waitlist is extremely long and I wouldn't get seen for months. My appointment with her was on Friday and I got my scheduling call today on Tuesday. Appointment for pt is 2 weeks from now. Push for your own care guys, because at least one doctor here is angry she didn't get into surgery or emergency medicine and had to settle for family medicine and is taking...
