14th Street Park has come a long way since the 1950's. The park is a strip of passive recreation oasis stretching 60 feet wide by five (5) city blocks long. It begins at the corner of 14th Street and Chestnut Avenue and runs all the way to Long Beach Blvd. The neighborhood park has seen it's fair share of social and economic challenges and revitalization efforts throughout the years.
The amenities at 14th Street Park includes a small and medium size playground, the Michael K. Green Skate Park, a full size basketball court & two half courts, an exercise/fitness park, and plenty of green grass to host picnics and events. The park is looking good again with the help of city agencies and contractors, neighborhood groups, non-profit organizations and local residents. The skateboard ramps smell like urine.. There 2 sections one closest to pacific street don't even let your go near it.. Kids need a place to enjoy and interact.
