I recently had the pleasure of dining at Max's Bar and Grill, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for the evening. The dimmed lights, rustic decor, and the hum of cheerful chatter in the background immediately made me feel at ease.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the burger and fries. Max's has undoubtedly mastered the art of crafting a delicious burger. The patty was perfectly cooked to my liking, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Topped with fresh vegetables and a special sauce, every bite was a mouthwatering delight. The accompanying fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, making them the ideal partner to the burger. The portion size was generous, leaving me fully satisfied.
What truly set Max's apart, however, was the exceptional service. The staff were not only friendly and attentive but also knowledgeable about the menu. They took the time to answer my questions and offer recommendations, enhancing the overall dining experience. Plus, their quick and efficient service ensured that I didn't have to wait long for my food.
One thing worth noting is that Max's Bar and Grill offers a generous 10% discount to college students. This not only demonstrates their commitment to supporting the local community but also makes it an excellent spot for students looking for delicious food without breaking the bank.
In conclusion, Max's Bar and Grill is a gem for those seeking a fantastic burger and fries in a welcoming atmosphere. With the added bonus of a discount for college students, it's a must-visit spot for both locals and visitors. I can't wait to return to savor another one of their...
Read moreI just feel that although the renovations are very nice and updated it took away the old comfortable family homey atmosphere seems like it's now catering to more of the bar clientele and the food has changed we bought a variety of different little snacky the mushrooms breaded or fried entirely too much the onion rings were very fried almost like if the oil was too dirty and you know that ground beef stock or overcooked look and we ordered the Fry's which was okay and ordered the sweet potato fries which was delicious and the zucchini which was delicious the hot dogs I would say kind of the same but just something was off and I'm so disappointed because the many many years close to 50 from when we used to go on down to the boardwalk and then after the fire to weather now located Every Mother's Day that was a standing sing and shared it also with my daughter-in-law that special day we would go to Max's and after Max's we would go to the boardwalk with the children it just has changed and I guess maybe I'm just too old-fashioned and should try to get up and come with the you know the new change and the new era but it's lost something for me and I don't know when I would drive all the way there just to go to my Max's I don't feel it's my Max's anymore and I truly remember most of all on Mother's Day mrs. Mac's sitting behind the register when she always sat perfect hair done and a beautiful beautiful bouquet of peach colored roses Every Mother's Day and that's missing the family atmosphere is just missing...
Read moreMax’s just reopened after significant renovations and redesign to the space. Recently went there to see how the new Max’s is compared to the previous version. First the good. Good location off of Ocean Ave. There is parking on the property and on the side streets and near the ocean (but not on the ocean nor it has any ocean views). Still has the foot long hot dogs which Max’s is known for. The bar area has been redesigned as has the layout if the seating areas. There are some nice booths which are behind a wall which separates the bar from the booths. Also there is a separate area that is a “traditional” counter service space set off from the bar and the rest of the dinning area. Things that need to be considered: Found the price for a hot dog to be pricey compared to the Windmill which is only a few blocks away The hot dog bun was a standard size, not a foot long. My companion had the vegetarian burger and found it had no taste and would not order again. The onion rings were very good. Crispy and not oily. There is a nice selection if IPA beers available. Although they were not busy, it was noisy in the dinning area as the floor is sealed concrete, there is no ceiling and there for no noise abatement.
If in the area, it is worth a moment to stop in as Max’s is a known shore icon. However, in my opinion, better prices and food selections can be found at other...
