Chi Kape is a hidden gem in Longmont that is a small woman-owned business that everyone should check out! Esly, the owner is a caring soul that is passionate about sharing the story of her personal journey that lead her to Colorado. Longmont is so lucky to have this specialty coffee & pastry shop in our community!
I loved the beef and raisin empanada with a flaky crust topped with toasted sesame seeds! YUM! I also enjoyed the iced Cubano coffee with homemade dulce de leche - so delicious and smooth! I also purchased the beautiful chocolate and dragon fruit meringue cookies to share with friends/family - makes for a nice gift! Lastly, I selected the Espresso Chapin, single origin coffee from Guatemala - cultivated and small-batch roasted, by strong women. Each bag of coffee shares a photo and story about the woman who produced the coffee - I love this special touch!
I also learned that Esly makes specialty cakes! I'm going to order one from Chi Kape for my mom's upcoming 89th birthday! I know it will be made with a lot of flavor and love! Can't wait to try her cakes.
I highly recommend that you support this small business that puts a lot of LOVE in everything they offer and you will leave with a full heart - ready to...
Read moreI stopped into Chi Kapé for lunch and left genuinely moved. I ordered a Cuban coffee, a Cuban sandwich, and the Wa’iim Bowl. The coffee was smooth and balanced, no bitterness, just rich flavor. The Cuban sandwich nailed the essentials: tender, well-seasoned pork, ham, Swiss, and that perfect mustard-pickle tang. The Wa’iim Bowl delivered pure comfort with vibrant toppings that tied it all together.
What set the experience apart was Esly. Her passion for quality is obvious, and it translates directly to what’s on the plate and in the cup. Hearing her story while tasting food that honors her roots brought me to tears, in the best way. Friends told me to visit for the food, and I discovered a shop full of unique gift items, too.
Chi Kapé recently moved behind the 7‑Eleven at Main & 17th—1680 Main St., Longmont and it’s absolutely worth the stop. This is the Caribbean and Central American comfort food I’ve been trying to find in Colorado. Places like this are why Longmont is special. Highly...
Read moreThis place was so casual and relaxing, and everything I had was AMAZING!
They have a menu sign in the window for the day's offerings, then everything is in the display as well.
I got the Cuban empanada and a guava and cheese empanada heated up with a Cafe Cubano (essentially a latte with dolce de leche added to your taste preference!). I made a big crumb mess and had absolutely such a wonderful meal. I'm glad I only ordered one each cause I could eat ten of them each!
The savory empanada had plenty of meat and a nice, crunchy-flaky crust, and the guava was just the right sweet to match the cream cheese. I definitely recommend getting this one warm cause it was MAGNIFICENT. I'm sure I'm gonna wake up from a fever dream craving it one day!
I definitely recommend at least stopping by and seeing if things look good today because everyone is interacted with is SO friendly that I'm sure that alone will leave you with a smile...
