I drove an hour from Louisiana to this Cheddars. The one that was opened in Louisiana has been shut down for years. I must say the service was horrible. I waited 15 minutes at my table after being sat down and I did not receive any bread or a drink. I went inside the restaurant and asked the bartender could I have a server because I started to think one was not assigned to me. It took another 15 minutes for someone to finally come out. I ordered a salad with pasta, bread and a drink. My servers name was Rex. He seemed pretty nice at first. I waited for almost 25 minutes for my salad and bread. I stopped a sever and asked her could I have it brought it. She said there was about 10 parties that had walked in but I was by myself. No one was with me. So, the guest sitting on the patio with me started talking to me saying they noticed Iâve been waiting a long time. I told them that all I ordered was bread and salad. They said I should ask for something to be taken off of my bill due to the inconvenience. They also told one of the servers to take something off my bill. Once I finally had gotten my food the server that brought it to me stated that my server Rex forgot about me apparently. She also stated that she suggested my price be reduced. My sever Rex only took $3 off of my ticket, he also tried to run off with my change that I asked him for then tried to act like he forgot he was suppose to give it back. I was going to leave a tip although my experience was that well but there wasnât any compassion showed towards me so I decided not to. If I had a group of people with me then I could understand the long wait time but when you are only serving one guest it shouldnât take very long to get them taken care of or to simply get a drink to the table. I felt horrible driving an hour out for this. If I ever go back I will ask for another sever and I will raise hell if this...
Read moreMy mother, myself and 2 other person's went to this Cheddar's on Thursday August 1st, we entered no one was at the Host stand, there was a young lady behind the bar, she pretended not to see us, another young lady entered the side door by the bar the 2 of them conversed and looked at us and walked to the back and never said a word to us. An elderly lady entered and started waiting behind us a busser came from in and started bussing tables, we approached him and told him we had been waiting for a while and could he get someone for us, he returned shortly and said someone would be with us in a minute, no one emerged. The 2 ladies I mentioned earlier emerged from the back and went behind the bar and still never spoke, smiled or made any effort to accommodate us, eventually a young man in a wheelchair came out , rolled to the front he never said hello, I am sorry you guys have been waiting, who was here first, nothing. I told him we have been here for here awhile waiting and he said nothing just looked at us. I told him we were leaving because of the lack of hospitality. My mother is 82 and on a walker so the inconvenience of getting her out of the car and back in because no one did not wanted to do their job was very frustrating. I called back inside the restaurant from the parking lot to speak to the GM who I was told was not there so I asked to speak to whomever was in charge and I am still waiting for someone to pick the phone up. I have managed restaurants for over 25 years and I would love to know the training process that this fiasco of a restaurant has, because we train everyone to be able to seat a table, to find someone to pick the table up if no one is in that section, get a drink order or offer to get a manager when they see something wrong or an unhappy customer. This was the worst experience I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing....
Read moreI called for a pickup order and it was about 30 minutes to close. The lady taking the order was very nice and made me feel better about calling so close to closing time. This was my first time eating at a Cheddars in over 35 years. She helped me pick some great items like the meatloaf and the chicken pot pie. My email said it would be ready in 30 minutes. I was there and went in right when it said it would be ready. The same lady that took my order seemed irritated and upset that I walked in at close but thatâs when the order was said to be ready. She was short with me and I remained chipper as I could. I pulled out my order to check it because food is expensive these days and rarely is it ever right. I was all there but she didnât like that I was taking more of her precious time. I thought it was standard protocol for the person handing your order to check it with you and for you. I guess not. I tried to make her feel better by giving her a 30% tip. I regret that since all she did was put the food in the bag. I handed her the tip in cash and had to tell HER thank you. She just said âmm hmmâ. Because of that I donât think I will be going back. I understand everyone wants to get home as soon as possible after a work shift but maybe people should consider that I also just got off of work and was just getting my dinner. If she didnât want to stay an extra 3 minutes then why did she even take my order??? Customer service is non-existent anymore it seems. Itâs like people act like they are doing you a favor when they are the ones on the clock. Then to be rude and ungracious for what I thought was a HUGE tip given for them to treat me like a piece of crap. Iâd like to think maybe something else was in her mind and she didnât mean to be so hateful but I...
