I started eating here when they first opened and have unfortunately watched their food and service decline. They were my favorite place. Their calamari used to be fresh and big with panko breading and garnish, now it's just frozen beaded rings I could buy at the dollar tree! I asked if I could substitute the rice for some vegetables and the lady just shook her head no at me. The salad is never dried before plating and always has so much water on it like its just sitting in an ice bath they just grab it out of. Last time I went, me and my friend both ordered hibachi chicken. There's nothing hibachi about it. It's literally just like canned chunks of chicken with no taste or sear on it whatsoever. The vegetables seemed microwaved quickly or something, just almost raw. It came with soup, two shrimp, rice, noodles, chicken, and veggies and was a good amount of food, but it was all just bland and not worth the $40+ for two hibachi boxes and a cheaply made calamari. The time before this that I went in for a lunch date they had a dish called "shrimp tower" on special for $10. It was just shredded fake crab with spicy mayo layered in a ring with 3 fried shrimp on top. I'm not sure how that's a shrimp tower. Just, seems like very cheap ingredients they use now and charge way too much for. I won't be...
Read moreI’ve dined at Fuji twice now and have greatly enjoyed both experiences.
Both times I’ve come on week nights and sat down immediately, there were just a few others. I sat at a table the first time, and then the sushi bar the next. Both times the servers were very sweet, and service was almost instant. For food I’ve started both times with the house salad, the ginger dressing is great. The first entree I had was the chicken Katsu, it was fried and cooked perfectly with a great crust and juicy, non-fatty interior. The katsu sauce was also traditional and very good. This time I switched it up and got something I never do. When I normally get sushi, I tend to stick to nigiri at high end sushi restaurants, but decided to be random tonight and order a roll. I had the Cajun Cowboy Roll and loved it. To me this isn’t sushi at all, with ingredients such as crab, crawfish, and ribeye steak on top….but I just didn’t picture it as that. I just saw it as a unique surf and turf entree, Texas style. Whatever you want to see it as, I bet you will love it as much as I did. Just overall good experiences I’ve had here.
My only suggestion is that it’s super bright inside, dimming the lights a little...
Read moreDo not eat here. I ate there last week and the food was amazing until I found a maggot in my broccoli. When I showed the waiter she said she would take it off my tab. She brought me and my friends tab out (we were paying separately) and I still had my drink and sushi on the ticket. I asked for the manager and explained that I felt me or my friend should not have to pay for anything being that it has all came from the same place. She argued with me saying the sushi came from the bar not from the kitchen where the broccoli was made so i will pay for it. I told her that I was scared to eat the sushi because it’s the same restaurant and there could be maggots in that as well. She RUDELY told me and my friend to just leave. How do you expect me to pay for anything when i found a maggot in my plate. They had no reaction which makes me think they knew they had maggots in the back OR this has happened before. If i could rate it...
