The atmosphere is nice and ambient; it gets pretty busy from what I've noticed, but this was my first time visiting and there's little confusion to be had when ordering, though I had to pull out a pamphlet menu once I discovered there didnt appear to be a menu up anywhere (I've noticed this kind of thing a lot in places like New York, so maybe Jason's just carried it over).
I ordered the turkey sandwich-o, which was actually rather disappointing. It was very tiny for the price, and even more bland, sadly; the only taste I found was the mustard, and this sandwich had both onions and guacamole, yet you couldn't taste any of it 🥺 The chips were your average Ruffles faire, though they brand it as their own, so maybe there's some minor difference.
The tomato basil soup, however, was great, and I'd recommend this place just for /it/. I was a bit apprehensive- I don't know what animal products usually go into tomato basil soup, but Jason's has it as vegetarian, but regardless of what is or isn't in it, it turned out pretty delicious.
The salad bar is ROBUST, and I was shocked to find my grandma's salad plate resembling a small mountain. It has everything on it, and while I didnt try anything on it, this place seems to be excellent for soup and salad meals
(If this is the case, that would explain their lack of a menu for their sandwiches)
Still, for a 'deli', I'd expect better as far as sandwiches go, especially with Newks right down the street making amazing sandwiches. For what it is, however, Jason's is pretty good, and if you can catch them not so crowded, it's a nice cafe-like place to...
Read moreIt looks like Jason' s deli has deleted my original post. I want to make sure you are able to read my post!! I have been to this deli several times. I do not want anyone to have my experience. This is why I am sharing what happened. The staff prepared our food and my wife and I enjoyed our salads. I finished more then half my salad when I noticed a dead fly in my salads. I took my salad to the front and asked for a supervisor. A man came to me and said I am sorry a fly landed in you food. You are not going to talk to me or my staff this way. You are going time leave my business or I am going to call the police. I asked him, talk to you and your staff in what way. He told me that I had cursed his staff and raised my voice to him. I asked for his name asked to speak to his supervisor. He said I am the boss. You have to leave or I am calling the police. I told him. I have not cursed anyone. You have not asked me my story or anything you have simply asked me to leave. I may have raised my voice but only after he asked me to leave. Please do not waste your time here. Jarrod Guyer is the managing partner of this facility. All I can say is that he must have really had a bad day. I will never eat at Jason's Deli in Long view. I hope that you...
Read morePlaced a to go order at 7:40 should have been ready at 7:55 when I arrived the manager was at the register. 2 people in front of me. First guy placed his order and sat down. Second guy was a contractor there to caulk the salad bar. The manager never acknowledged me he told the contractor he'd get someone to help him but then went over there himself and didn't come back or send anyone to help me for 10 minutes I waited for a girl from the back to come up and see me waiting and help. When I told her I had a to go order she couldn't find it. There was a full page print out of my order right next to the register where the manager had been standing. She took it over to the guy making sandwiches and he shrugged and said he didn't know anything about the order so she pinned it up and told me it will be just a few more minutes. It was now 8:17. There was a total of 10 seated customers, 1 guy ordered before me and nobody else came in while I waited. I didn't get my food until 8:35. Our order is always wrong these days so I checked it at the front counter. I thought it was right so I went home only to get in trouble because her sandwich didn't have avacado and her salad was a half salad but we paid for a full. My sandwich was badly made and the bread was pretty hard. We...
