Kumori Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Longview

Food was most excellent. Top notch. But service extremely rare and slow. And its not like its a large dining room. It was over 15 minutes before someone came to ask for drink order. wine selection was limited. Btw this was a first date night for me. My date likes sushi thus kumori's. I ordered a pinot noir and was later told they were out but merlot was available. The merlot was good. Our waitress and the seating staff was friendly as much as they needed to be, which was fine but just hoping for that extra. We both ordered the rainbow roll which was great. The dumpling appetizer was complimentary but so good i orderd a second round. If they had a higher energy and an interior update this place would be 5 star everyday. Nonetheless, as is, its still one of the better sushi bars in Longview if not THE best. Did I mention the dumpling appetizers? If you are not sure where to eat and not in a hurry, trust aunt Roxi and go to Kumori....

10-22-2024 around 6:15 I walk in with 3 more adults and my 4 year grandson and tell the black young lady what we needed. She asked me if a booth was ok and I replied yes that's fine That I needed a chair for the grandbaby. She said no we could not place chair in aisle that we would have to sit him between us. I said no . So we proceed up by fountain machine and kitchen past the bar lat table on right. We had plenty of room for extra chair or booster chair. We were told no we could not have that table that it would be a 30 min wait. Note this was a birthday dinner No I will not be coming back in there. Very poor hostess. A chair would have fit fine in last option. It was no problem. We ate at another neighborhood . They had no problem seating...

My fiancé n I ordered some 3 combo meal. There was a weird nasty bug in my bowl. We told the waitress and she looked at it and didn’t say a word and took the bowl back which her reaction made us think it happened before. She came back and asked if we want the same food and I said no. She didn’t apologize and just said we will take the food out of your bill. Flies were everywhere and overall looked really bad. It’s a shame nobody didn’t acknowledge what happened. I’m glad we tried this restaurant and know to not go back there again. I hope they do a better job to keep that...
