This was one of the worst experiences I have ever experienced at a “steakhouse”. My wife and I came on a Friday night around 6pm or so. Surprisingly, they were not busy at all for a Friday night at that time. We were seated almost immediately. After being seated, our server did not come to the table for the first time for almost 10 minutes. After the server came, there was no apology for the wait and she asked what we were going to have to drink. As soon as she got our drink orders she was going to walk away. I told her that we were ready to order (since we had 10 minutes to look before she ever arrived to the table). I ordered an appetizer and we both ordered our main entrees. She told us, “I will get those orders in right away and bring you those drinks!” Right after taking our order, she stopped at the table across from us and took that table’s order; that table was a party of 7. (She still had not put our orders in at the kitchen.) After she took their order, I assume that she went and put all of orders in. 15 minutes after we had given her our order, she finally brought us our drinks. During this 15 minute period that we were waiting for our drinks, another family had been seated right behind my wife and I. Their server came and took their orders and I couldn’t help but hear that they ordered the same appetizer that we had ordered. Later on, about 5 minutes after we got our drinks, the family behind us received their appetizer. (The same appetizer that we ordered about 10 minutes before them, and we still had not received our app.) About 20 minutes after we received our drinks, some other employees that were not waiting on us brought us our main entrees. I still had not received my appetizer. While waiting for my server to come back to tell her about the no-show appetizer, we started to eat our main entree. I had ordered one of their burgers with fries. I requested that my burger be cooked medium.. my burger was well-done. Also, amidst all my fries, I found chips. The burger was the absolute worst I had ever had at a “steakhouse”. When the server finally came back I told her that the appetizer never showed and told her to cancel it and she apologized. I also asked her for a water refill because we had both been out for a while and we had not received a refill one time. I wasn’t going to say anything about the meal being terrible, but the server asked me how everything tasted, so I was honest about it. I had eaten most of the burger at that point. She apologized and walked away. A couple minutes later, she came back saying she had spoken to the manager about my experience. The manager had told her to give me a card for a free appetizer with a purchase of an entree. It was a kind gesture, however, I will not be returning to this Outback. My experience was terrible. Not to mention, the food made me sick later on. I really do hope that Outback can turn things around. There is a much needed improvement on customer service /customer care, and cooking the...
Read moreMy husband, son, and I decided on Outback tonight over the local K-Pot place and the new sushi buffet because I thought that it was going to be better and cheaper. I have never been more wrong.
I want to preface this by saying the host, our waitress Kali(?) and our expo Emma(?) were all amazingly spectacular and incredibly kind - this review is, by no means, a reflection on them (and is the ONLY reason this review received an additional star rating). Our service? Great! Our food? Not even remotely worth the $130 we spent on it.
We ordered our drinks (a sweet tea for my husband, a strawberry lemonade for my son, and a strawberry Arnold Palmer for me) and they and the bread came quickly. We decided on the Sydney Shrooms for our appetizer and my husband ordered a Caesar salad with his steak, so those came next. The mushrooms BY THEMSELVES were great, however, they were over-fried, over-breaded, and over-seasoned. We corrected this by peeling the breading off of the mushrooms which then made them edible.
I don’t really frequent Outback, but when I came before, adding a lobster tail to your meal was $7.99 - it is now $15.49. Our waitress literally put it in and saw that the filet mignon and lobster at $35.99 was the cheapest option to get lobster added to a steak. So that’s what I ordered: filet mignon (medium rare) and lobster, with a loaded baked potato and broccoli. My husband ordered a ribeye (medium rare) and grilled shrimp, with loaded baked potato and the Caesar salad. My son ordered a sirloin (medium) and coconut shrimp with mashed potatoes and ‘seasoned’ rice. None of our steaks came out right - mine was over and both my husband’s and son’s were under. My husband and I wound up switching because rare, bloody steaks don’t bother me. My lobster was great, but their shrimp was not - the grilled shrimp was over-seasoned. The Caesar salad was fine, but I think that there was some form of horseradish in the dressing which was surprising. However, all of the other sides were cold. Both potatoes, the butter wasn’t even melted under the sour cream and cheese. My son said (and my husband confirmed) that the rice “tasted old”. After I saw how much we were charged for our food to be so subpar, we skipped dessert.
Again, our waitresses were great - I actually got two drink refills at almost the same time. This was also the first time that I have been to an Outback in seven years after a horrible experience at the Tyler location. The one caveat that I will express is that we went kinda close to closing - like two hours before. So, maybe that caused them to have an off night, but, sadly, it will probably be another long while before I try another...
Read moreI went to get the Valentine's Day steak special meal for my mom and I It was supposed to be a 6 oz sirloin steak with a loaded baked potato a salad and a piece of cheesecake and the Bride of course. The steak was so burnt on the outside and looked like it was sauce if you took a picture but it was burnt char-broiled and it was completely pink in the middle and I ordered medium well. I called it in as I was about to check out at Walmart. Outback is in the same parking lot. I told them to wait about 20 or 30 minutes to even start the order so that I can get checked out and load the car but within 5 minutes they were already sending me a text saying it was ready. No way a steak dinner should be ready in 5 minutes if it was even that long so they didn't even wait 20 to 30 minutes to start it. So I get there and I pick it up and I get home and it was so burnt on both sides it was like somebody put it in a George Foreman grill and just press down for about a minute or two and burned it on both sides to the point you couldn't even cut it with a knife even when I picked it up it was so toughI couldn't even break it off with my teeth it stretched out like a piece of rubber the baked potato was not cooked all the way through so it was hard and I gave you the minimum amount of sides to load it with I got a bloomin Onion it was completely soggy everything tasted like they dumped a whole bottle of salt on it I mean every time you put a bite in your mouth my blood pressure is probably going to be through the roof I did take a picture and put it on Facebook I asked for no tomatoes in my salad and they still put tomatoes in it but just about wilted lettuce in it the only thing that was decent was the bread and that's because we had some Texas Roadhouse butter to put on it at the house the cheesecake I have not tried that yet but even the piece that my mom got looks like somebody took a bite out of it already the whole meal was a complete disaster if I didn't even have to give it one star I wouldn't anyways The only positive thing that's coming out of this is I did call them let them know that I took a picture and that they are going to be refunding the money but this is not the first time I've had a bad experience with outback and that's why I usually go to Texas Roadhouse but I don't recommend this place to nobody I mean that meal was not even fit for an animal we threw everything...
