Eh… I have passed by Nan and Pops many, many times and have told myself, “I HAVE to try this place out!” Finally my husband said let’s go! I was so excited, especially after looking over the menu and deciding on the Cookie Monster Craze Freak Shake. When my husband brought it over to me I was so impressed by the presentation, whipped cream, topped with a cherry, two Oreos and a nice warm chocolate chip cookie, YUM! I ate the top first and then began drinking the shake; this is where things took a turn. The vanilla ice cream was so bland! The only flavor in the shake itself were the cookie pieces and chocolate chips. This was so upsetting as I was all pumped up and ready for what I thought would be a delicious shake. My husband got the C is for Cookie shake, and he said the same thing, the ice cream was bland. Unfortunately, after spending over $19 on two shakes (that are probably the size of a medium), I do not think we will be visiting Nan and Pops again. I gave them three stars because I feel everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so if you want to give them a try, maybe the other flavors are better, go for it! Please support your local business. Presentation was nice and so was the staff. However, I personally did my part, tried them out and am going to pass...
Read moreI eat ice cream as a treat w/ my significant other on a weekly basis and we use that opportunity to try different places around the city and were excited to see a new shop so close by. now more than ever which is why I'm going into detail. Unfortunately, as it stands, the Ice Cream is bland and subpar at best, waffles are greasy and unappetizing, the nachos lack waffle chips and the syrup is barely drizzled on unlike the display pictures....
Honestly it's nothing special, maybe I overhyped myself but I was really looking forward to some amazing Ice Cream. .I would give a lower rating and do a review on Facebook but it takes guts to open a business right now and locals need support I'm hoping this is due to COVID-19 and supply shortages. I'm hoping to turn this into a 5 star review in the near future, but I have to be honest because this is the only way improvements can be made. Their customer service and staff is phenomenal and extremely friendly during our time there.
I wish them the best in this endeavor but hope to see a few changes when things get a little...
Read moreHonestly, I think the owners take advantage of their employees. Every time I come in, it’s the same girl working and I’m concerned that maybe they are overusing her? Seems like they don’t have anyone else. I do remember they used to have 4 employees working at a time and it used to be different people when Nan & Pops first opened up, but now it seems like it’s the same 2-3 people. Since I’ve noticed that most of their employees look like they are in highschool or in college, I think they should consider hiring more people to be more considerate of their employees personal lives. I have heard that the employees get paid $8.50 an hour, which is lower than minimum wage and I’ve seen the owners pull in with expensive cars…not really adding up. Yes I understand that employees get tips but that should be added to the minimum wage, not anything below minimum wage. Also the one time I met the owners they were dry and rude (very unprofessional). The ice cream is pretty overpriced and average. The Cold Stone ice cream and creations are...
