20240927 Came here with my coworkers. To be fair, by the time I arrived [late], the pizzas were cold. I added a star to this review because I assume the warm pizzas would be a lot better. The pizza was pretty good, but it is not the best I had. I ate a slice from the 4 pizzas on the table. I was pretty hungry 😋. There was 1 pizza that stood out. The cheese had a funny taste. Fortunately, I got a slice that didn't have a lot of cheese or meat on it. It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't get that pizza again.... AS IT TURNED OUT... it was a Vegan Pizza!!! Fake cheese, fake meat!! No wonder the cheese tasted funny! 😱 I'm a true believer of... don't make or eat anything that looks like animal products if it is vegan. 🙄 I tried their fresh lemonade with grapes, and thin apple and lemon slices. My first sip of the lemonade was pretty much all sugar. Thanks to my coworker who suggested stirring it. Ah!! So much better!! I can taste the lemon juice. It's still pretty sweet, but I like it that way. I would get the lemonade again. I brought back a steak and cheese with fries for my friend at work, and he seemed to like it. The fries smelled so good in my car. If I were to come back, I would probably try another menu item.. especially their soup that looked delicious in the photo. I should have checked out their menu. The lady who took my order was...
Read moreBozzellis is in a pretty unassuming small strip mall flanked by industrial and commercial parks - easy to overlook and ignore. But don't ignore it. I know my way around an Italian sandwich. My favorites have been from Antonellis in Lorton and Puccios in Leesburg. I know it's sacrilege to not rank the Italian Store in Arlington, but those are my (previous) favorites.
The bread is pillowy soft, and the hot peppers give a serious kick. The meat and cheese are the perfect ratio, and the dressing gives just the right amount of acid.
As for the pizza, it's good, but with a commercial taste. Best I can describe it is Pizza Hut meets Dominos. Toppings and cheese are generous (I ordered a standard 12" pepperoni) and the sauce has a nice flavor, but nothing stood out flavor wise. The crust had good chew like a hand tossed crust from the hut, but also had cornmeal dusting like Domino's. It's not offensive or unpleasant (maybe just a touch too much sauce), but I'm surprised a local place could build their name on this pie. I would not turn my nose up at another slice, but with places like Antonelli's, Lost Dog, and Valentino's screwing up the curve, it only gets a B.
Nevermind all that pizza talk, this place cruises to a 5 star rating on their...
Read moreAfter approximately 2hrs of researching the best cheesesteak in the area, we settled on this place. I am so glad we did! 1st glance I knew it was going to be good. Then the aroma from opening it up I was like oh yeah! Now I consider myself a cheesesteak connoisseur so it is very important to find the right cheesesteak place or it was not going to be a good night for me. Then the 1st bite and from there I finally knew this is it! We have hit & missed cheesesteak placed when we travel to this area but this feels like our hometown cheesesteak place from now on. It’s greasy but when I want comfort food I want comfort food. The fries are yummy. I purchased some tater tots just in case, don’t waste your money. They were too greasy/soggy and no flavor. The fries were great! No overly crispy just right for me but greasy as well, in a good way. The regular size order is plenty enough to share with another person. I am glad they even referenced that on their site. You could even stretch it to feeding 3 people. It depends on your appetite but the fries and cheesesteak was definitely a hit and more than enough to share. It’s shareable! I...
