My wife and I placed a $150 take out order for a dinner order to treat her parents who had just arrived from Chicago. After driving 10 miles roundtrip to pick up our dinner, we arrived home to find two items were missing. It wouldn't have been so terrible, except that one of the missing items was my 4yo son's tacos. The other was just a side of fries. So after driving back to the restaurant, I walked in to find an empty host stand with my son's tacos sitting on the counter. They were obviously cold because the inside of the clear plastic container was barely steamed up. Then the host walked over and informed me that he forgot to ring up the side of fries, so I would have to pay for those and then wait about five more minutes while they finished cooking the batch. I reminded him how the restaurant forgot part of our order and I was now driving 20 miles (two turn around trips) for tacos, yet he wanted me to pay for fries? The host looked at the manager who was standing quietly behind the bar, then replied, "Yeah".

I declined to pay for the dries, took the cold tacos and went home. By this point my food was cold and dry. The rest of the family all agreed that the best part of the meal were the chips and salsa.

I've been coming to this Taco Surf ever since the place opened. I remember it was always amazing back in the day and the restaurant was always packed at dinner time. Tonight, the place was practically empty. My wife and I have eaten at this specific location probably three or four times in the past two years. Each time we've been less than impressed. This experience was absolutely the last straw for us. There are way too many better Mexican Food options in the area where I would much rather spend my money.
