OUTDOOR SEATING: VERY nice outdoor area but heaters often don't work. VEGAN OPTIONS: Some (Crazy) PRICE TO “ADD TOFU” TO A DISH: $4.95 PARKING: limited lot in back with validation. Free 2 hour street parking a couple blocks away.
I’ve been going to this restaurant for decades and have always loved it. Since the pandemic it has opened a really great outdoor seating area with lots of (fake) greenery and fairy lights which makes it extra nice. Several of the wait-staff have been there for YEARS and are very friendly and efficient.
Sadly, in the past two years my experience here has gone way down hill. My favorite dish to order has always been the breakfast scramble but the eggs are never fully cooked and I’ve been unwell after eating it twice, so that item is off limits for me now since I’m not up for three strikes. I thought perhaps it was just my stomach being overly sensitive until I found out another person in our party felt unwell from an egg dish there too. Not great. I tried the Curry a few times which was OK, yet bland, but each time the Brussel Sprouts were so hard and undercooked they were inedible which was disappointing since they were half the meal.
I love their new outdoor seating area but the heaters often don't work (they are constantly broken or out of propane) which makes eating in the evening and chilly days uncomfortable.
The decline in the attention to the menu items combined with the constant and steady price increases has made this place not for us. They also charge that annoying 4% “kitchen support fee” which I seriously dislike.
We have moved over to the Parakeet Cafe a few doors down which has consistently excellent food and a great outdoor seating...

Today I ordered the Orgwnic Kale and Quinoa Salad with goat cheese, veggiedz avocado mint, green onion, cucumber, walnuts, carrotsx celery, red cabbage. It was delicious and healthy!
My friend ordered the turkey burger and she enjoyed it!
There are plenty of nice tables to sit outside that are dog friendly.
Free parking in the back. One of my all time Go To places for tasty healthy food for Dinners, Lunch or Breakfast.
The staff is friendly and work well together and been working there for years. Recently I came here for a weekend breakfast. I ordered the Garden Vegetable Omelet and my friend ordered the Avocado Toast with eggs, and turkey bacon, two toasts with 2 eggs and avocado! My friend loved their Chai Latte with Almond Milk too.
There is a small side and front patio, dog friendly. There is also a small parking lot behind...

Black beans came out dropping wet. You use a slotted spoon to serve them. Not exactly a top chef level technique there.
Potatoes are literally just giant chunks of potato, barely cut up and certainty nothing close to resembling home fries.
Somehow, egg, cheese, beans, hot sauce and guac all come together in the (cold) corn tortilla and taste like...nothing.
This is just a place jumping on the vegan/healthy bandwagon but couldn't care less about their customers. Utterly astonished they have such a high rating. Must not be many options in this area? Do not go...
