I have waited to write this review because I hoped that things would change here, but from the sound of some of the other reviews, it has not. I live in Los Feliz and I have longed for a neighborhood spot, like we had with DINER in Brooklyn. I thought for sure it would be All Time. Unfortunately, our experience was unwelcoming and cold and nothing like the friendly folk at DINER.
I had been to All Time for lunch and was so impressed with the food. So, on probably my first date night out after having had a baby, my husband and another couple and I made a reservation on a Friday night.
When we arrived (on time) our table wasn’t ready. We were told to wait in thecrowded front area on a bench, which obviously inconvenienced the wait staff. The wait was undeniably too long and so the hostess offered us complimentary Prosecco as a conciliation. More wait, more Prosecco, until after almost an hour of waiting we were seated.
By then we were empty stomach and very ready to eat. At which point, the server came to take our order and said we would not be allowed to order wine bc we had too much to drink already. We were asked to eat with no wine or leave the restaurant.
We thought he was kidding.
So, we went to speak to the hostess who had given us the drinks in the first place and asked her to explain and she completely snubbed us. After talking to our server again he explained that the owner’s wife had made the decision and pointed her out and it was the same woman who had given us all the drinks!
We of course left.
But not without mentioning that they had just alienated 4 good neighborhood customers who actively dine out and were ready to make All Time our spot. Despite the offensively high wine prices for bottles you can find at Silverlake Wine for a fraction of the price (a much friendlier experience).
Ironically, All Time took over the space next door which belonged to a restaurant called Community that actually HAD the vibe All Time advertises- good local food, neighborhood joint, owner remembers your name and smiles.
When someone asks me to go to All Time, I tell people this story. From time to time someone will offer a similar story about the same woman and how rude she was, and I am validated that it was not just us. It’s kind of a thing there. It’s too bad because the food is great, but the attitude is...
Read moreLos Angeles has plethora of good food if you know where to look. A good breakfast food could inspire, shock, excite, delight and impress. At All Time, it did exactly just that. All Time is a cafe restaurant that serve sensual breakfast, lunch, coffee and wine. It is located on the corner of Hillhurst ave and Price St in Los Feliz neighborhood section of East Hollywood. I arrived on the ninth day of April (on a crisp early morning Friday) in the year of our Lord, this two thousand twenty-one. I have passed by this place but never got the chance. Interior design was well conceived in a bright terrace with wood exterior and plants. Atmosphere vibe was very chill and welcoming a nirvana like essence. I perused their breakfast/drink menu and ordered a Cheesy Eggs on Toast and a drip coffee with milk-sweetener. The food was very savory and perfectly made particularly the scrambled eggs. Similarly, the conflated mixture of my coffee (12 oz) was good. Service was moderately fast and food serving was slightly above average. It’s price was matched the quality and service. Staff were amiable, competent and followed health protocol. As far as parking is concern, no rear parking lot available albeit plenty of metered street parking around the area. In this voluminous review, I found that All Time is a great place to grab breakfast/lunch/coffee that will surely satisfy your appetite. Overall, I had a wonderful breakfast meal and order experience. And therefore, I highly recommend All Time...
Read moreAVOID THIS ESTABLISHMENT, unless you can appreciate feeling uncomfortable in a restaurant. I SHOULD HAVE READ REVIEWS PRIOR. It's sad that the owner of this establishment earned her review. This place doesn't even deserve a food review because of the experience.
1st encounter: barely sat down at a table when approached by someone (who happened to be the owner) to move to another table. Mind you, there was plenty of seating available. Without question, my friend and I moved to another table. While waiting for our coffee and meal, I could feel someone watching me across the way. It happened to be the same person that made us move. It felt very uncomfortable being stared at by this person. This continued throughout the time in the restaurant.
2nd encounter: while outside the restaurant and walking to my car, my friend was talking to me about a business sign we had just passed. When I looked back, the person in the restaurant happened to be standing in a window and staring at me. This made me feel even more uncomfortable.
I didn't want think of the person as a racist, but being that my friend and I are people of color, it was only reason that I could come to mind. If it wasn't for trying to make the best of my time and my day, I should have asked for a refund and taken my...
