Absolutely awful. I really hate leaving bad reviews because I am a business owner but the service was appalling. Will never go back. Sad bc I like blue bottle coffee. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was being judged by the woman there who I suppose was the manager? If I asked a question about what $7 coffee I was about to order I would get a look of annoyance or disgust. When my coffee came out and I tried to pull it out of the holder and the scalding water spilled all over me and the counter and the lady told me I should get a lid before I pull a coffee from the holder. I said it was my first time here and not sure where the lids were, as hot coffee was dripping down my arms. She pointed and I got a lid and came back and she definitely wanted to let me know the mistake was mine and said I should know in general never to do that! Ha. Thanks. Way to really let me know it was my fault. When I asked for little cream for my black coffee, what do you know, a look of disgust. She poured a tiny bit for me, and when I asked for a little more, I could feel her annoyance. I'm sorry I like milk in my coffee. I literally could feel the pressure like if I asked for any more she would explode. I just spent $20 on 3 coffees. Can I halfway enjoy them after being harassed and shamed by you and your staff ?????
So the real nightmare begins when some customers walk in with dogs. I am sitting there drinking my now lukewarm coffee with a teaspoon of milk in it and leakage all over the cup, and two dogs go at it and the PIT BULL next to me gets triggered and starts barking. As I am holding my coffee I get startled after already being humiliated and I spill my coffee all over myself and the table, floor and into the tray. They just look at me. Not one finger lifted to give me a napkin or help me clean up the mess or SEE IF I AM OK!!!!!!!!!! I honestly can't wrap my head around it. What about some human decency?????? Instead they looked at me like I was annoying and a drama queen. Half my $7 coffee spilled. No offer to help me or give me a go go cup of maybe a new one that wasn't dripping all over the shop and myself. Coffee was spilling out of my tray. I walked out in tears from the shock of the dogs flipping out next to me and spilling hot coffee all over myself. I decided to go back in to grab napkins as I was now dripping coffee all over my car. They wouldn't even look up at me. I mentioned that the way they treated me was pretty crappy and she gave me the most on knowing apology. Honestly it was the worst service of my life and a humiliating experience and I'm absolutely appalled by the experience. Blue bottle you better handle this bc you have left a terrible taste in my mouth, and luckily I am not a litigious person because if I were, this could have been a much worse problem. Please get your staff to treat customers with a little bit of respect and decency. Honestly. This world man. If you're gonna charge that much for a cup of coffee give someone a good experience, or at least not a...
Read moreBlue bottle is a cute little coffee shop on Hillhurst in between Starbucks’s and The Coffee Bean. Although the space is tiny it feels airy and open. One of the wonderful perks of coming early morning is that there are no lines, so if you are in a hurry this is good place to come in and get your coffee. There is usually an open metered parking in the front.
Blue bottle uses the pour over method for a cup of coffee, which interestingly is pretty quick.
Blue bottle coffee uses ingeo compostable lids and compostable cups although these aren’t for home composting. The cups are small and they don’t do full pours $5.00 USD for a small cup of coffee, €4.43 . Blonde/Light Roast was the request and Guatemalan was the suggestion from the barista/cashier.
There are a few chairs and tables which there are a few people working/ writing, the tranquil pace of the location seems to conducive to getting work done unlike busier shops on Hillhurst Ave.
There are some pastries; croissants and other sweet and savory goodness’.
Overall: Blue bottle is not for everyone; at Five dollars for a few ounces of coffee is not sustainable for the average...
Read moreI think, therefore, I have had my coffee. Without further ado let’s begin the journey. Blue Bottle Coffee is a coffee roaster and retailer whereby they focus on single-origin beans. This store is located in Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles; they have stores throughout USA (CA, Boston, New York, Washington, D.C., Chicago) and abroad (Seoul, Kyoto, Kobe, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Yokohama).
Interior design and layout was modern, spacious and naturally well lit as well as their outdoor patio. Furthermore, their atmosphere was very chill and relaxing. I came here today on a warm, cloudy and muggy late morning to grab a drink. It’s my first time going here after years of driving pass by them. I ordered a Bold Cold Brew (16oz) and it was perfect to my liking. It has a smooth flavor, a rich sweetness, a very gentle hint of aroma from coffee beans, and virtually no bitterness.
Service was outstanding as well as their staff. Prices were reasonable and competitive. Parking was easy. Free wifi.
Overall, I truly enjoyed their service and coffee drink. I recommend this...
