Big Mama's & Papa's Pizzeria - Eagle Rock — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Appalling to say the least. Horrible.

There is a standard for food and this place doesn't make the cut. Today my order was absolutely terrible. And now I have 3 puking family members that feel terrible after eating that trash. I wont ever eat there again and suggest anyone that does is careful or just avoids this place all together. Go to Town pizza off york instead, highly recommend. Our order had Undercooked food, it was cold and not even slightly warm, incorrectly made pizza and missing toppings that were paid for, and then the chicken that we paid extra for in the salad....boy, let me just start by saying, the chicken literally tasted like DISHWATER and fell apart like papery cardboard and was hard and greyish as if it had been washed in dirty dishes and then sat under a heat lamp for hours. [But they claim to not have heat lamps so idk] When I called to speak to someone about the major issues with my order, I was put on hold for awhile and then spoke to someone who tried placing blame on us instead and told me, "our orders are ready usually in about 20 to 25 min, and your was picked up a little later than the 25 min, and we dont have heat lamps, so if your food is cold its bc you picked it up later than 25 min."

Like...Really? Because when we arrived to pick up the order, we were told it wasn't even ready and we had to wait approx 10 more minutes. So...late? No, not even.

Their food is over priced for the low quality that it is. They charge almost ridiculous prices for sub par food. Don't go blaming customers for employees and restaurant errors and mismanagement of the restaurant. And whatever it is that has made my family sick from your food needs to be fixed. Absolutely unacceptable. No refund was offered whatsoever.

Do better. Or close...

I'm a major Big Mama Pizza fan with the ginormous pizza slice that is the perfect mix of thin crust cooked perfectly, cheese and a good tomato sauce. So I was quite pleased that BMBP had a location in Eagle Rock near my new job since I was craving pizza (I can't lie I always CRAVE pizza!). After a crazy busy day I decided I want to get out and enjoy the sun and PIZZA so drove over to the the restaurant. They have parking meters everywhere as well as the dreaded zones for the parking police to gitcha so I was super happy to see they had a small parking lot for customers AND a spot! Yahoo!!!! First off this is the biggest BMBP I've been to (and I've been to a bunch) and it looks like on the left is the pizza joint and the right is a bar in the large space. Since I was having a break from work I decided that a liquid lunch was not the way to go! bwa ha ha They have a great selection of lunch specials (all under $10) from pasta to sandwich to pizza. I went with pizza, salad and drink for around $9 (pizza had 3 toppings yahoo green olives baby). The slice was cooked just as I like it with the thin crust being able to stand up to my big three (pepperoni, green olives & mushrooms) the mushrooms were to make it 'healthy' bwa ha ha! I was super excited to see that they had the guinness world record giant pizza abut sadly with the redecoration they got rid of the giant oven. All in all a great choice for lunch with a clean restaurant, two sinks (easy to wash hands before eating), wifi for...

I wanted to give them a try since I received their advertising in front of my door and I like to encourage new businesses in my area. On phone, they were okay, it was difficult to hear them, they seemed busy, what is normal for a Pizzeria. Delivery exactly on time, half an hour later, so far, so good, nothing to say, it was okay. But as soon as I opened the box, and I should have done it sooner, first it was not the pizza I ordered at all, or at least, certainly not what I was seeing on the photo of their advertising. Then it was so oily, literally soaking in oil, that it was disgusting to see, but I paid $20 for this pizza and we were starving, so we ate some, not all, and I can tell you, I don't know how much time I will need to digest it. I have the feeling to have had oil for dinner. I ordered this one because it seemed green and healthy!!!! Poor me, there was nothing green in it and it was the most unhealthy pizza I ever ate. I think I am disgusted for a very long time. Go every day there, and you will be sure to have a heart attack shortly! Or a stomach problem. I am so disappointed, I couldn't even imagine that it was possible to make a pizza so oily and disgusting. So if you like very fat and big food, yes, this place is for you.
