My girlfriend and I live in Eagle Rock and stopped by this new place to see if it competes with the restaurants we've got around.
It absolutely blows them out of the park.
We started with a couple lattes, an iced horchata latte and a hot mazapan latte. The horchata latte was okay, even maybe a little subpar. I often order horchata lattes when I try new coffee spots and this one leaves a lot to desire compared to others in the area. The mazapan latte, on the other hand, was one of the best flavored lattes I have ever had. It's perfectly sweetened and does really feel like drinking a warm, liquid version of the mazapan candy.
For food we both ordered the chilaquiles, one with salsa verde and the other with mole. Both were delicious and fairly portioned. When the plates were served I immediately thought it wasn't enough food for the $16 price (that's per dish), but its deceiving for sure because I ended up totally full by the end.
Lastly, we got two orders of ice cream, one horchata and the other arroz con leche. When I was ordering them I misunderstood the cashier and thought he was saying that it's three scoops of ice cream per order. It's three WAFFLE CONES of ice cream per order, with the cones filled to the bottom with incredible high quality ice cream. This is an unreal amount of value, and it honestly might just be fiscally irresponsible to get ice cream anywhere else.
Service doesn't usually mean much to me so long as the food is good, but the service here was undoubtedly awesome.
This is my new favorite spot in Eagle Rock and we will 100% be coming...
Read morei’ve been wanting to try out lola cafe since it opened up, and they definitely exceeded my expectations. my partner and i decided to try this place for the first time and we loved it! the service was great, the food was excellent, and the ambiance was really nice. i’m absolutely coming back again soon.
for drinks we tried the mazapán latte hot and the horchata latte iced. my horchata latte was okay compared to the mazapán latte, which was absolutely perfect. next time i come i’m definitely going to try the horchata latte hot instead.
for food, i ordered the chilaquiles verdes, which was delicious, 10/10. my eggs were perfectly cooked and the salsa was so tasty! my partner ordered the mole chilaquiles and he seemed to really enjoy his food. it’s rare that he gets full from one entree but to our surprise he was completely out by the time he finished. these dishes were super filling, which i wasn’t expecting.
for dessert, we got an order of the arroz con leche and horchata ice cream & we were very surprised when we got out order. these desserts were incredible in value and taste.
overall, this restaurant made an amazing impression. definitely my new favorite breakfast place around the...
Read moreI want to commend all the employees for all their hard work here. It never goes unnoticed from a customer’s standpoint. But thumbs down to the owner for being so ungrateful and unappreciative. Orlando, you slave your employees to the ground. You don’t give them their breaks ON TIME, legally it’s BEFORE their 6 hour mark. You slave them until it’s time for them to leave and then you ask them to take a break so you don’t need to pay them. Cheap much? And then you have the audacity to say that your employees don’t do anything or don’t do things the right way but the customers say otherwise. You put down your employees to make yourself feel better, and you never own up to your wrongs and blame someone else. All your good employees had left Lola’s not because we can’t handle a fast paced environment, we loved working for Lola because the community and the customers were amazing, it’s you who drove us away and continue to drive away your good employees with your ungrateful and selfish self. Let’s not say all the other stuff that happens behind closed doors. I’ll leave that for another day.
