Buon Gusto was such a buona sorpresa for the boyfriend and I. After learning there was an hour wait at the Olive Garden, I used my nifty Yelping skills and found this restaurant. I'm not a HUGE fan of chain restaurants but we had a $25 gift certificate for OG so it was awesome to see the BGR offered 50% off second entree with a Yelp check-in!!! OHHH the perks of using Yelp :D...
Parking- There was plenty of street parking in the neighborhood. Its in a tiny strip mall with other shops so it may get crowded in the lots, but their was ample street parking.
Atmosphere - This place wasn't crowded at all. Seemed welcoming and quaint. VERY ROMANTIC decor and ambiance. The romantic italian music in the background was a definite plus. Like I said was really crowded so It has an intimate vibe not noisy at all.
Food - Complimentary garlic bread was warm and soft but fairly average tasting. Not really a huge fan but it wasn't bad. Acceptable before -the- meal chew toy. LOVED their vegetarian options. I didnt feel limited like most places Ive gone too and there were tasty items to choose from. I ended up getting the bow tie pasta with sun-dried tomatoes, spinach and mushroom (not featured on their online menu nor Yelp menu). IT WAS AMAZING. It was in a clear garlic olive oil sauce, perfectly slathered. The added Parmesan set it off! The Cabernet house wine went well, I was satisfied with my choice.
Service- Kind of slow, BUT very nice and attentive. Different servers would come by intermittently throughout the meal and ask how everything was going. Our water glasses were never empty so that speaks to their attentiveness. Perhaps since it was empty I felt like things went by much slower than reality. But the service here was great! Everyone said goodbye as we exited so that was a small comfort.
Would pick this over a packed Olive Garden anytime. Great food, decent price, nice atmosphere and a Yelp check-in offer. Whats...
Read moreOwned and operated by the same owner and staff for more than 25 years. I went to this romantic eatery when they first opened and it was love at first bite. It was the beginning of one of the longest and most steady romances of my life. So, when during the pandemic, I noticed their open sign was lit up, I decided to treat myself to some of the best, most authentic Italian cuisine available in the greater Los Angeles area and I'm so glad I did. The food was piping hot and delicious with the most generous servings of pasta drowning in sauces to die for. And every dish is served with their signature heart shaped super fresh bread, which is baked throughout the day for the ultimate in freshness and to tear into one of those heart shaped breads and soak up the generous amount of sauce they serve with their fettuccine Alfredo (just to mention one of several they offer) is to know what it must be like to eat in Heaven! For your own little slice of Heaven on Earth don't forget to order their after dinner Cappuccino with a generous serving of their made-on-site Tiramisu for dessert. It just plain doesn't get any better than Buon Gusto Risrorante on Devonshire in North Hills,...
Read moreSO good! We were so impressed with this place! We actually went to see and support Juan (we knew him from another restaurant he used to work at). Was not expecting it to be so good! We will be coming back often. The limoncello dessert is DELICIOUS and a total must if you love limoncello. I'm not a tres leches person but my husband ordered it and said it was the best he's ever had. The bruschetta and the caprese were both made with high quality ingredients and super fresh. Bruschetta was actually the highlight for me. Will order it every time we go from now on. We had a pisco sour and an aperol spritz to drink. Both were perfect. We had the penne with meat sauce (comes with a meatball and a sausage). Fantastic. I had the chicken Marsala. Also great. Not heavy. Service was impeccable. Juan took great care of us but the rest of the staff was very attentive, as well. Our water glasses were always filled, the kitchen timed our courses perfectly. The music was spot on appropriate for this type of place and we loved it! Cannot wait to come back and try other things on their very...
