⭐☆☆☆☆ Just Not Worth the Hype
I had seen the long line outside Casa De Nti and one morning decided to stop in and see what all the hype was about. Honestly, I should have just stuck to my regular spot—Holiday Burger—because this experience left me feeling disappointed and uncomfortable.
I ended up spending $22.87 on a basic omelette, potatoes, and toast. For that price, I expected something memorable or at least flavorful—but it was just mid. Nothing special, and definitely not worth nearly $23.
What really bothered me was the service. The woman who took my order seemed standoffish, and after I paid, she disappeared. A male staff member stepped in to help, and he was more professional and customer-friendly. But just as I was about to leave, someone questioned whether I had even paid, and they actually went to check. That made me feel extremely uncomfortable, especially in such a small space where everyone could see and hear what was going on.
To make matters worse, I couldn’t help but notice that I was the only Black customer in the room, and no one else was being questioned. Whether intentional or not, the experience felt discriminatory and unwelcoming. I left feeling more judged than served.
Next time, I’ll just stick with Holiday Burger, where I’m always greeted with a smile, the food is great, and the bill is...
Read moreCasa de Nati is a gem of a restaurant! Small, family owned, it offers a nice selection of breakfast and lunch items across two menus. The menus are divided between traditional American style fare and on the reverse, classic Mexican American cuisine. The atmosphere is overall welcoming and family friendly. Music plays a little loud, but not enough to kill conversation.
I highly recommend their Mexican menu...the sopes (chicken or beef) are outstanding. Portions regardless of dish are generous, and in the case of the Mexican items, come with red and green salsa. Speaking of salsa: if you appreciate spice, request the salsa macha...it is smoky and spicy goodness.
Service from the entire staff is absolutely wonderful and welcoming. Wait Staff routinely check in to see if there is anything else needed. Prices are somewhat uniform for many dishes across the breakfast and lunch menus...and are more than reasonable for the quality...
Read moreI used to love this place and went so often but I just found out that they recently failed a health inspection so badly that they were shutdown. The inspection is one of the worst reports I’ve ever read and I’m so disgusted that the staff working here showed such little care about food handling and safety. The worst parts of the inspection show that they have at least 3 employees without any food handling certification, a roach infestation, dead bugs in the kitchen, and a broken soap dispenser in their kitchen sink, meaning probably none of the employees washed their hands throughout the day.. There’s so much more you can find on Google but that’s just the worst of it.
I can’t help but leave a review and hope that people reconsider eating here because I’m truly disgusted and wish I never came here. It isn’t just a mistake, this is just a complete lack of care. People deserve to know and I wish...
