The customer service when we went to pick up our food was amazingly but unfortunately that was about the only good thing from our experience here last night. We were celebrating our 2 year anniversary and wanted to try a new place that was near my house so the food would be fresh. My girlfriend pick this place so we looked through their menu and was willing to try it. We called in during Super Bowl halftime to put in our order. I got the New York Steak full cut at medium rare with salad and fries while my girlfriend got the Shriml Scampi with mashed potatoes and clam chowder soup. We were told it would take 15 minutes to be ready. When we got there, there was plenty of parking in the small lot. I had to ring the bell a couple of time for someone to acknowledge us but the lady helping us was very friendly. When we got home to eat the food, we were highly disappointed. My steak was not juicy at medium rare, also had no flavor and the texture of the meat was just bad. The fries basically had no taste as well, even when I added black pepper, salt and ketchup ... it didn't help. My girlfriend was shocked to see that the shrimp scampi had no pasta and was basically just like 5 or 6 pieces of shrimp. She also didn't like the bread and clam chowder. She didn't even touch the mashed potatoes and I didn't even...

Salad, warm bread, real butter, steak, shrimp, mash potatoes & gravy, and some veggies for $21.99? Hell ya!!!

So I was staying at a hotel nearby for a couple days, and shopping at Vons across the street from the Safari Room. Every time I went shopping I could smell meat cooking... had no idea where it was coming from. After the 3rd of 4th time shopping, I crossed the street to see who was burning steak so well. Lo and behold, this old place was it.

I walked in, and it was like I was in Vegas in the 60s. Coolest place ever on the inside. The staff were AMAZING, the bartender Shirley was sassy, and hilarious, and makes a killer Mai Tai! The patrons were all pleasant, and you can tell most had been there many times...

But the FOOD!!! OMG, what a ton of food for such an amazing price, and every bite was DELICIOUS! I've never been more impressed with a Special like this one.

If you're in the area, I highly recommend this spot. You will not be...

They went from $29 to $38 for their T-bone steak while they still promote the $29 price on their website and Facebook. Scallops went from $2 to $3 each. Our waitress even complained that they have even stopped giving two pieces of toast for breakfast while the prices jumped drastically. This establishment is in a run down building that they own and it's not like rents have gone up. Beef hasn't had a drastic increase and bread is cheap. They a price gouging. We won't dine here ever again.

I should have complained about my overcooked t-bone steak. But whatever I'm not one to make a scene at their business. Just learned my lesson. They are not getting my business anymore and hopefully this helps more people make...

OLD SCHOOL local steakhouse serving the same decent steaks and sides. The prime rib was good but not great. The Friday clam chowder was above average, considering it's obviously not heat and serve. You can taste the seasonings and bite on actual clams. My other half had the topsirloin and shrimp special. It's definitely worth the visit. The steak was cooked exactly to order and the shrimps were not over grilled. Can't go wrong with draft Stella and salmon creek zinfandel. The chocolate mouse pie was good too, but the inexpensive chocolate sure sauce drizzle was not needed. When the bill arrived, $85 plus tip, we looked at eachother and without saying a word we both knew we will return.
