Today I had the opportunity to check out Burgers 99 with my friend. The restaurant exterior was nice and loved the BURGERS99 neon red sign. The interior was nice and liked the clean white tile lines and the accent of the yellow neon lights up above. Check out picture of one of the owner in action. Love the vibe and music they play. In the beginning walking in, the music was quite loud but once they realized the volume was turned down and I had a pleasant experience.
The cheeseburger was tasty, had pretty good ratios. Next time i want to try to the double cheeseburger. My friend had the Hickory Burger. The fries were crispy and hot and well seasoned. The breakfast burrito was good, the turkey sausage had good flavor and the egg were cooked to perfection. We wanted to share the hotdog, so I went to ask the server for a knife and he was like most customer eat them whole. I'm like duh, I'm sharing with my friend, thanks for your smart comment. Well once cut, we both took a bite and immediately both our responses, were not positive. That dog was basic, I swallowed but left the half for the trash.
I had Burgers 99 @ LA Food & Wine in Santa Monica and boy it was deeeeeeeeeeelicious. My first bite today was like this wasn't what I had at #LAFW, I miss the flavor-flav and crave to eat the curry spiced burger once again. I hope they put that on the menu. ...
Read moreWow, this place is a GEM. My girlfriend and I ordered a Cheese Burber, Hickory Bacon Burger, and a hot dog and we were not disappointed. A must add to any “Best LA Burger” list.
The HBB had hickory bacon, thick cut, cooked to the perfect juicy to crispy ratio, and was not over smothered in bbq sauce. The CB was a classic, no frills, straight down the line burger and delicious. Raw onions and 4 pickle slices were a nice execution. And then THE BUNS (on both burgers and hotdog). SO SOFT. Well toasty on the outsides with either butter or Mayo, and then steamed out from the grill to wrapping. Incredible.
Only thing holding back a 5/5 would be the lack of an affordable combo. $9 for double cheese burger alone, $5 for an order of fries, and $3.50 for a fountain drink. La Brea prices for a La Brea spot.
Staff was excellent,...
Read moreStopping by this burger spot is a tradition for me after I get my haircut nearby. Each time I’ve been, the food is always great, and I find myself so fascinated by the vintage decor, that waiting for my food is a pleasure! But my favorite part about visiting this shop is seeing the employee, Collin. He’s locked in and in the zone when handling multiple customer requests at once very quickly, while still providing excellent service. I was fascinated when I noticed this on my last visit. It’s been close to 2 weeks since my last haircut/visit to Burger99, yet he still crossed my mind enough to make me want to leave this review. I think that says something! I appreciate you Collin, and the great food + decor here! Looking forward to my next haircut, for more...
