i don’t ever write reviews, but i have strong feelings about this place after i just had to pay an $800 ER bill so here we are.
i had been to this specific store multiple times to get the pesto pasta, since i’m allergic to walnuts and i can’t eat pesto at most restaurants because of it. on my birthday last year, i decided to get the pesto pasta again (since it was delicious and i thought it was safe to eat with my dietary restrictions according to the menu). after eating about a few bites of it, however, i noticed it tasted different and i started having an allergic reaction to the pasta. i called the store to ask if they had changed their recipe to use walnuts instead of almonds since i not had this reaction to the pasta before and the worker i spoke to said they did.
the next day (after seven hours in the ER), i called the store again and they directed me to the owner of burrata house. he told me the exact opposite of what the worker said, that they didn’t change anything and that it was likely “trace amounts” of walnuts since they get their sauce from a factory (if that was the reason, i would have had the reaction the first time i had the pasta). in the call, he simultaneously apologized for what i went through and tried to make me feel like it was my fault that i had an allergic reaction to something i believed to be safe. he did offer to compensate me because of my experience with a gift card or can of sauce, but he never followed up and when i tried to via email they went ignored for months until i gave up.
idk if the workers at the store that day maybe ran out of the almond-based pesto and opted to make their own out of walnuts, but whatever happened left me with nearly a nearly $10,000 ER bill that insurance could only cover so much of. it was one of the worst experiences of my life and the complete lack of disregard for what i went through (which i could have sued them for) was a slap in the face.
if you have any dietary restrictions or care about decency, do not go...

Read moreI ordered the Prosciutto Panini and after the first bite, I was transported to the Italian countryside. The freshness of the bread, the bright and tart taste of the arugula, the sweet and salty prosciutto, all perfectly capped by the buttery richness of the burrata made for a perfectly balanced panini! Looking forward to going back and working myself through their other tasty...
