I had one of the worst experiences of my life with this hotel company. I had booked a trip back in November and let me just say that I was there for approximately 5 minutes and left. I refuse to believe that a health department examines this place. I will begin by saying the pictures that are listed on the website look nothing like the real thing. This place is dirty and poorly maintained. When I walked into my "Non-Smoking" the first thing I noticed was how it reeked of smoke. It smelled like if someone had been lighting a cigarette there every day since it opened. The second thing I noticed was that the walls were simply just dirty. You were able to see shoe marks and handprints. Now what completely blew my mind was the fact that the sheets were STAINED. This was just simply unacceptable. I left the room immediately and I headed over to talk to the receptionist. He offered me a second room and I told him that I would take a look at it but I did not feel safe staying in this unsanitary hotel. As we walked to the second room we passed by what they called a kitchen. I could not believe my eyes, this was the most filthy thing I've ever seen. I was in shock with how poorly maintained this hotel is and the fact that it is still open for buisness. I told the receptionist that I had seen enough and I wanted a refund. He proceed to tell me that he would not give me a refund because I had already checked in and there was a no refund policy. I was so upset, i went back and forth with the receptionist and he told me to contact the booking company which i had booked the trip on. Which happens to be trip.com. I contacted them and everyone was really friend but I was told that the hotel would not give me a refund due to again the no refund policy. I completely understand the no refund means no refund but in this scenario you would think that such policy would be voided once basic CDC sanitary precautions are not followed. I wish I would have taken more pictures of this place. All I got were the pictures of the stained sheets, which should be enough for no one to want to stay there. Unfortunately it is not letting me add pictures to this review, they probably have it that way so that we are not able to expose how filthy this...
Read moreAfter a thorough research, I found out the safest/best place for an affordarble price in LA is in fact in West LA! Definitely stay away from Downtown area; that's another story to tell.
I love this hotels location! It's smack bang in the middle of everything LA! LA is HUGE so picking an accomodation in the middle of it all is essential. Santa Monica is only 20 minutes away, while Downtown is 30 minutes on the other end (even with traffic), add another 10 minutes and you'll be in Griffith Observatory.
The staff were rather quiet yet pleasant except for the grumpy housekeeper who knocked on every door at 8AM sharp every morning, "Where is sign?" apparently she wanted us to show the make up room card by the door handle every morning. We just couldn't deal with it and left the do not disturb sign for the whole 4 nights of our stay.
A simple good quality breakfast is served every morning with muffins, fruits, coffee, oats, milk, and chobani yoghurt. They're kosher if that helps. Coffee is available 24/7.
The room is clean, simple, and huge (for its price)! We were able to spread 4 open luggages and still had space to move around.
Downside: Stairs. Only goes to 2nd floor, but with 4x50lbs luggage and having to drag them downstairs and to where I parked my car, it felt like a HIIT workout. Probably best if you have your own car. I barely saw public transportation around the hotel, although Uber/Waymo is seen quite frequently here. Parking is strictly street parking only with daily permits given out by the receptionists. The hotel is located in residential area, so if you get to the hotel late at night, the chance of you getting a parking nearby is quite slim albeit possible. Please follow the street parking signage as some days there'll be street sweeping and will require you to move your car early in the morning. Don't leave ANYTHING visible in the car, not even a phone cable as LA is quite infamous for car break-ins.
All in all I would recommend this hotel. Very affordable considering it's in the middle of LA. It's located in a safe neighbourhood although street smart is still a must (and everywhere...
