I cannot say this enough, do not stay here. I stayed at the SureStay Beverly Hills September 15 to 17 of 2022. On the second night of the stay I discovered multiple cockroaches in the room and in the bed. I see other reviews have noted this issue (as well as bedbugs) in the past and the hotel had said they have addressed these issues. As of September 2022 they absolutely have not and I don't expect they plan to. The cleanliness of the room was awful, the sheets and carpet were dirty when we checked in and the infestation of bugs was unacceptable. After talking to the front desk and finding out the hotel had no other rooms available and there was no one to clean our room, we were offered a vacuum cleaner which was inadequate in solving the issue of cockroaches and other bugs. The manager, Johana Gomez, was gone on vacation that day and the front desk was not authorized to issue us a refund since we would not be able to stay in the room we were given. No other solution was offered and Best Western customer service was of no help. As of October 4, 2022 I am still attempting to get a refund for the night I was unable to stay. Although Johana did respond to one initial email about the situation saying they would look into it I have heard nothing back. The phone number they provided to contact them directly just goes to the front desk and every time I have called I have been told Johana is unavailable and I can try again at a later time. Best Western has only offered me $20 worth of points despite a $200 nightly cost for the time I stayed. I have been consistently pushed in circles between the hotel and Best Western, both saying to contact the other. I understand that Best Western hotels are individually owned and operated however the assurance of quality simply is not there. There are pictures of the cockroaches in the room attached to this review. If the hotel or anyone wants proof the cockroach was in the room at this hotel, the pictures show the room and can be matched with other pictures from the hotel. All I can say in the end is that this hotel is not worth it. The management does not appear to care about the conditions of their facilities and do not expect Best Western to be of any help as they do not seem to regulate or ensure the quality of the hotels they endorse.
With regards to the reply from the management: I want to be clear, the staff at the hotel were not the issue, they did their best to help given the ridiculous situation we were put in. The management is who I am having issues with. They have refused to accept any phone calls for the past 2 months and have repeatedly said they would call me back and never have. They lied about the details of our stay to Best Western Customer Service saying we stayed the second night despite the hotel staff member that helped us that night confirming that we did not stay the second night. There is no reason to investigate the hotel staff in this scenario. The management however is awful and impossible...
Read moreStayed here for a weekend stay. For $200 a night the room was cramped but adequate and clean. There wasn't really a place to put a bag that wasn't in the way or on the bed, and no place to hang anything except in the shower. The basin is in the room which is okay - at least you can brush your teeth while someone uses the toilet.
There's a microwave and fridge in the room which is convenient. The room had window A/C which was cranked way up when we arrived so it certainly works to keep the room icy cold. It was a bit rattley when cooling but not bad. Neither I nor I had problems sleeping.
The bed was firm but not hard. Two pillows. Clean comfortable sheets. Plenty of towels. My wife thought the shower pan was very slippery, I thought it was average but definitely not non-slip. The shower curtain was mounted a few inches too high so the floor got wet when we showered.
The hotel staff I spoke to were polite and helpful, no complaints there. The hallways of the hotel were kind of sad - looks like they are in the middle of painting since there were areas patched for painting all over but no fresh paint. Finishing that would go a long way to improving its look.
Unlike others I had no problems with locks but I would add that like many motels the hallways outside your room area easily accessible to the outside so absolutely you need to keep your door locked and not having a functioning lock would be a real breaker especially as there are no room safes.
We didn't have any problem with noise from neighbors or outside but we were at the back of the hotel which backs onto a quiet alley. If you had a Beverly Blvd facing room it might be noisier. The windows had solid closing blinds on which were virtually black out.
For the person who said they had a roach in their room - I think that is because the doors are missing a sweep so whatever is in the hallway can crawl in and as I noted the hallways are essentially open to the outside. I took a photo of how much light shines under the door - I think the hotel should have door sweeps installed to make it harder for bugs to get in.
The hotel has parking in the basement level for about 13 cars and it is down a steep ramp. While parking is fine getting out of you have a long or wide car may be intimidating. Either you back out (I saw a pickup truck do it) or you make a lot of back and forwards to get lined up to make it out without scratching your sides
In many locations this would be a $50 a night hotel but in LA on a weekend is more like $200 a night. It's a big city, right across from a CBS recording lot, 10 minutes from Hollywood Bowl (without the ever present traffic) and loads of good places to eat and drink close by. So it is what it is and for us it was good enough - the parking could have been a bit easier but it had it and it was free, and the room could have had a bit more room but we didn't spend but a couple of hours there...
Read moreStayed here for five nights while in town for a family event, easily the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. This place is so bad it's convinced me, who has never before written a Google review, to share my experience in hopes of sparing others: Multiple appliances in the room were either malfunctioning (heating/cooling system) or simply broken (tub drain) VERY thin walls; I could hear someone talking (presumably at a normal volume) on the phone in the next room from 2AM to 3AM, making it very hard to sleep voices carry, doors slam very loudly in the hallway outside rooms. I've shared rooms with strangers in hostels overseas that were quieter than my private room at this hotel. On Friday and Saturday night in particular, all the people coming and going and making a racket made the place feel more like a dorm at a party college than a hotel. breakfast options are lackluster: 4 (bland) cereal options, 3 types of grain, some yogurt flavors and a waffle-maker. the drink options were the most appealing, and even they mostly included canned chocolate milk and juice boxes, not a variety of fruit juices or coffees. Most mornings I ate very little, despite the fact that we picked this place in part for the free breakfast. front desk cannot be reliably reached by phone, sometimes even after multiple tries. cleaning services are very very slow; we made a point to call the front desk at around 9AM and ask that towels be brought up to the room at some point during the day. We returned around 5:30PM to find no towels. The room had also not been cleaned despite the maid service sign having been left on the doorknob all day.
(A few) positives: courtyard area is cute, breakfast hours (7-10) are long, location is good.
Still cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. Avoid like the plague, and if you MUST stay here, try to limit yourself to a...
