We went this weekend during the grand opening. The service was a bit slow and unorganized, but everyone was friendly and I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt as this was their first weekend open. There also appeared to be some disparities between the prices listed on the menu and the real cost.
We ordered two chicken sandwiches, a cappuccino, and a cold brew. The coffee and cappuccino were good, but the cold brew was insanely expensive, and I was not charged the price listed on the menu. I was charged an extra $1.50 just because I had milk and vanilla in the coffee..$6 for a 16oz cold brew is absurd, especially when it arrived with no vanilla in it.
We wanted to get croissant egg sandwiches but couldn't bring ourselves to buy two at a whopping $17 each. Instead we bought two chicken sandwiches, which were pretty good but could use improvement at $13 each. The homemade aoli was good, as were the vegetables, but the chicken was under seasoned and the baguette was of standard grocery store quality.
We will definitely give this place another chance but the extremely high prices are likely to keep us from being...
Read moreNo modifications on any menu item, really? I wanted a galette but didn’t want honey because sweet stuff had no place in a galette, that’s why crêpes sucrées exist. They refuse to just not put it on, like it ruins the culinary integrity or something. How pretentious.
Look, I’m not French and I can’t cook; however, I lived in France for a significant amount of time, and I think the owners are actually French, but in my time there, I’ve never seen this. Also, the ham baguette sandwich comes with brie, which doesn’t happen in France either (that I’ve seen anyway, I’m sure somewhere someone is putting brie on their jambon beurre or whatever). If anything it should be emmental, which wouldn’t be a problem if I could make a single substitution.
I was excited for them to reopen and to have somewhere I could finally walk to for breakfast or lunch every weekend and get some good traditional French staples, but because of this absurd “no modifications” policy, that’s not going to happen. So, maybe this is unrepresentative of how good the food is, but why impose...
Read moreGreat Coffee Shop just down the street from me, so it's very convenient when I want a type of coffee I can't make myself at home. The prices are a bit high (but that's typical for any coffee shop like this), but they make it well (although I'm no coffee expert...lol).
The food is good, especially the breakfast menu, but the prices are a bit high compared to the portion size. They also recently opened up for dinner hours and I've eaten there a few times. The menu is compact (which I like) and the food is good, but just like the breakfast menu, the portions are a bit small for the price.
What especially stands out about this placed is the service and atmosphere. The ambience is beautifully put together and very comfortable...I could chill there for hours. It's also a great date spot, whether it's an initial coffee date or a nice dinner. And the entire staff are always very friendly (shout out to Veronica!).
I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a nice coffee shop to sit down and enjoy...
