I can try to understand why people wouldn't like this place, but honestly for the taste this place is a home run. I'll state upfront that I'm a basic beach chicken tikka masala kind of guy. I'm set with just curry and naan. Most places have a navel orange hued masala that's watered down, and the chicken chunks would be a little stringy from sitting in the curry for too long. The CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA from tandoor-a-india is blood orange and thicc. The color probably comes from the saffron and turmeric added for full authenticity, if anyone knows the recipe I'll give you my left kidney. The chicken is also cooked perfectly every time. The KHEER dessert is also noticeably better. It had a flower bud for flavoring and I think almond slices. The NAAN is hit or miss, sometimes perfectly puffed and crispy and others slightly soggy. The ROTI is pretty bad, it's just soggy and flat.
I typically get take out or delivery from this place, and that's how I discovered this gem (#blessup to amazon delivery). I loved it so much I went in for their lunch buffet. The place looks kind of janky from the outside, surrounded by liquor stores and a marijuana dispensary, and its parking lot is terribly small (prob 4 cars max), but the food is too good to resist.
It's true the service is lackluster, and the maitre d'tables loves looking at his phone more often than a millennial, but it's a self-serve lunch buffet so I'm not bothered. The water was served in tin cups was kind of distasteful, but that's probably a Indian restaurant décor standard. The naan arrived mid meal, but they had rice ready at least. I never got a tainted delivery or washers in my food. Maybe I'm lucky, but I've ordered out at least 5 times and ate in once
All in all a definite recommend for locals, visiting body builders, and people who generally enjoy the classic chicken...
Read moreI've been to this restaurant twice. The first time I was not favorably impressed by the food (I got one of the combination platters with the different types of meat). The second time I got the chicken karahi, and the person who was taking my order helpfully offered to make it spicy. Normally I expect a piece of bread with my gravy but in this case I had to order it separately. My mind was blown by the quality of the gravy. I do not say this lightly, I've been eating Indian food in the US for a while now and the karahi chicken from Tandoor a India is definitely the best chicken gravy I've eaten in the US. I liked the fact that the chicken was boneless and unlike most karahis this one was not floating in oil. The taste of the ginger was not overpowering and the gravy had a hint of sweetness which I liked. The chicken melted in my mouth. (They must marinate it in some special way) the portion size was large and I was easily able to make two meals out of it. I am going to keep trying this place out to see if this was a one off thing but if they have any consistency I'll be frequenting this place. The service is definitely nothing to write home about but if the food continues to taste this good I am willing to...

Super good and delicious and fresh. Bright inside, large windows. They also have a section to the right when you walk in, for non brunch items. You can always order To-Go and ala cart.
If you want naan, it’s extra. Garlic naan is my favorite. Baked fresh with food stretch.
