I can try to understand why people wouldn't like this place, but honestly for the taste this place is a home run. I'll state upfront that I'm a basic beach chicken tikka masala kind of guy. I'm set with just curry and naan. Most places have a navel orange hued masala that's watered down, and the chicken chunks would be a little stringy from sitting in the curry for too long. The CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA from tandoor-a-india is blood orange and thicc. The color probably comes from the saffron and turmeric added for full authenticity, if anyone knows the recipe I'll give you my left kidney. The chicken is also cooked perfectly every time. The KHEER dessert is also noticeably better. It had a flower bud for flavoring and I think almond slices. The NAAN is hit or miss, sometimes perfectly puffed and crispy and others slightly soggy. The ROTI is pretty bad, it's just soggy and flat.

I typically get take out or delivery from this place, and that's how I discovered this gem (#blessup to amazon delivery). I loved it so much I went in for their lunch buffet. The place looks kind of janky from the outside, surrounded by liquor stores and a marijuana dispensary, and its parking lot is terribly small (prob 4 cars max), but the food is too good to resist.

It's true the service is lackluster, and the maitre d'tables loves looking at his phone more often than a millennial, but it's a self-serve lunch buffet so I'm not bothered. The water was served in tin cups was kind of distasteful, but that's probably a Indian restaurant décor standard. The naan arrived mid meal, but they had rice ready at least. I never got a tainted delivery or washers in my food. Maybe I'm lucky, but I've ordered out at least 5 times and ate in once

All in all a definite recommend for locals, visiting body builders, and people who generally enjoy the classic chicken...

I've been to this restaurant twice. The first time I was not favorably impressed by the food (I got one of the combination platters with the different types of meat). The second time I got the chicken karahi, and the person who was taking my order helpfully offered to make it spicy. Normally I expect a piece of bread with my gravy but in this case I had to order it separately. My mind was blown by the quality of the gravy. I do not say this lightly, I've been eating Indian food in the US for a while now and the karahi chicken from Tandoor a India is definitely the best chicken gravy I've eaten in the US. I liked the fact that the chicken was boneless and unlike most karahis this one was not floating in oil. The taste of the ginger was not overpowering and the gravy had a hint of sweetness which I liked. The chicken melted in my mouth. (They must marinate it in some special way) the portion size was large and I was easily able to make two meals out of it. I am going to keep trying this place out to see if this was a one off thing but if they have any consistency I'll be frequenting this place. The service is definitely nothing to write home about but if the food continues to taste this good I am willing to...

Their lunch buffet is top notch!! From 11AM - 3PM, enjoy endless amounts of delicious Indian cuisine. Last call for food is at 2:45 PM

For the buffet selection: tandoori chicken, chicken tiki masala, saag (spinach), chickpea curry, a type of potato curry, rice with saffron rice bits, samosas, and salad.

Dessert in the buffet includes the traditional donut ball in sugar syrup, a milk porridge with almond slices and fresh fruit.

Onion chutney, green sauce, sweet red sauce also at the buffet line.

On weekends, lunch buffet goes for $10.95. Weekdays it’s $9.95

Super good and delicious and fresh. Bright inside, large windows. They also have a section to the right when you walk in, for non brunch items. You can always order To-Go and ala cart.

If you want naan, it’s extra. Garlic naan is my favorite. Baked fresh with food stretch.

Free parking above the restaurant on a hill, enter the lot right in front of the place off of Pershing. Spots are limited to about 5, so go for street parking on Pershing if you...

Went for the lunch buffet, which is $20 now. Unsure if it was worth that much, as the lunch offerings weren't varied or flavorful. The dishes available were mostly flavorless and tasted like whitewashed "Indian" food. Chicken was very dry, the naan bread tasted burnt, and the paneer was super oily. Tricky parking here too, be careful. What was most odd about the experience was the young server who hovered over me and stared at me the entire meal, watching me chew for more than an hour. I was the only person in the restaurant (which is quite telling during lunch time), and he came over multiple times to ask for my Snapchat/Instagram info. I politely told him no but it was really weird, and made me feel really uncomfortable. If you're looking for flavorful Indian food this place will most likely be a disappointment. For $20 one would expect a bit higher caliber.

Soooo delicious and flavorful. I got the Tandoor-A-India combination dinner to go. Such a perfect assortment of food, the bengan barta was especially scrumptious. The kheer and curries are AMAZING. I switched the naan for roti, and I should have gone with nana because the roti was underwhelming. They also forgot the raita? But there was an extra different kind of chicken curry thrown in (tasted like butter chicken?), so I’m not mad. Just double check your order before you go. They’re also very kind! Great service. I’ll be back! Note: they are not offering the buffet at this time. They said they’d bring it back if they have enough people asking for it!
