When on the West Coast, I personally am never more excited for a meal than coming to In-N-Out Burger. The chain itself offers a simple menu, never frozen meat, fresh produce and bread, and freshly cut potato fries. When you only do a few things well, you can do them perfectly.
It's really hard for me to not give a location 5 stars; I just love the food and this one is no exception. It does have its share of issues. This is the only location in San Francisco proper, which means it's a draw for others that don't have one back home. It's also in the Fisherman's Wharf area, meaning a ton of tourists are always here. It's also small, meaning there tens of people jockeying for seats and waiting for their burgers and shakes. One tip, there are many more seats outside in the courtyard of the mall; it's also more space if sitting close is a bother.
Regardless, the staff here are young, enthusiastic, and friendly; they know the menu and get your order done quickly. The cooks in the back are an assembly line, orders are coming out as fast as they're coming in. Customers here are also friendly and happy to be here, I had no issues on either visit finding or sharing a table. The floor staff keep the trash emptied, tables clean, and condiments restocked.
The food here is consistent with every location to which I've been. The burger was done to perfection, it was big and juicy. Fries were overflowing, Animal sauce oozing. I love the plastic trays; they are washed and kept cleaner than a standard fast food restaurant tray. Prices are super low; around $10 for a full meal.

Even if you don't drink soda you have to buy one to pour out to use for water from the machine... Even if you have children they still will not give you cups of water for the kids to eat with there meals...but you can buy a cup for $2.50.... Do not go here...
Read moreThrough the driver, my boyfriend said we wanted the all star meal #18, one order of onion rings, and a raspberry iced tea with the meal, and Raphael asked what size, and my bf said medium. We come up to the window and my bf asks for 2 double sliders since he forgot to order it and Raphael was kind enough to do so. When we received our receipt we noticed he didnt even get the number 18 order at all and just charged us for the drink. We went around again and told him exactly what I wrote on here. And Raphael looked either annoyed or pissed or maybe that's just his face, but when he asked if I still wanted the medium drink that came with the meal I told him that he gave me one and if he wanted it back and he replied "I'll let you keep that one this time." He then gave us our correct meal and gave us the difference of the drink. Thank you for being patient and not rude, because you could've handled it...
