Mexican to avoid.

Atmosphere: Small shop menu is clear about 4 or 5 tables, nothing good or bad here.

Staff: friendly & helpful everyone was very nice

Price: prices are good $2.50 a taco probably one of the cheaper tacos in the area.

Food we ordered:

Chips: a smaller batch of chips covered in what i expect is a mole possibly and some cheese. This was pretty good nice crunch on the chips. came with two salsas a green and red both had a nice strong flavor and a bit of a kick.

3 Tacos Combo -

Carnitas Taco - The best of the 3 tacos we got, strong lime flavor which i liked add some of both salsas and this is the thing to get. However my one pet-peeve with carnitas... If while you are adding carnitas to the taco and you see a LARGE piece of inedible fat DON'T PUT IT IN the taco...

El Pastor Taco - The one recommended by the staff, strong flavor decent taste not my thing but also not bad.

Chicken taco - this might possibly be one of the worst chicken tacos I have ever had.. No seasoning whatsoever the color was off i'm not sure they even put this on the grill.. absolutely avoid this at all costs. I wish I had photographed this one, it was that bad..

Rice & Beans - overall soggy and not very good, flavorless.

Overall the food was not great. We went on a Friday after lunch so it wasn't busy. Im unsure if the food is just pre-made but nothing was really hot.. The food and the reviews on this place just dont match up... Not sure what people are eating but it isn't the food here..

Tips: Plenty of parking in the lot, the candys next to the soda machines are...

So after a year, I can verbalize I've nibbled and tasted the menu... everything is as good as it gets! there's was something on the list I've never endeavored... their cheeseburger.

Now afore any of you call me crazy, we all ken, a Chef can make anything and the owner of Casa De Papi, is a fantastic chef with an opportune catering business... he's always verbalized his burgers are astonishing... and he personally dotes them.

So tonight after getting two steak burritos, a chicken (all meat) burrito, a handful of empanadas... I figured "why not" let's do the burger.

When I tell you it was a dam good burger, virtually a religious moment... you should trust me.

Far better then anything you would get at Fathers Office... mind you I'm only comparing the "burger" quality, portion, seasoning etc... you can't compare anything else.

Double patty that cumulated is about 1.5" thick! The tomato, sliced from the heart. Thousand Island on one side, Mayo, Ketchup on the other... lightly toasted sesame seed bun.

It was one impressive experience and I can attest! Being a native to Los Angeles, growing up on burgers such as Tommy's (Beverly & Rampart), Barneys Beanery, Fat Burger, Ships, Flooky's, Pinks, Jans, Delores, The Counter, In & Out, The Apple Pan, Astro Burger, The Palm (which still is ranked. #1 but it's a ground steak burger, arduous to vanquish!)... Casa De Papi I'd put right along side any of the aforementioned, minus the Palm.

Bottom line, if you dote a great burger, and you're open minded... you genuinely should...

Absolutely about everything about this place is amazing! I have been coming here for about 5 years and sorry to the owner Marcos I just barely had the chance to leave a review, every time I come into his beautiful restaurant I feel like I am visiting family he knows me by name and he already knows what I come to order! I come for the torta milanesa de Rez extra queso fresco and let me tell you I drive across the valley to come here for a reason! The food is always delicious and the dining area is always clean I could not ask for more! Thank you Marcos for always being so welcoming with delicious food in hand I will forever be coming here!!!
