Catch 818 Mariscos — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Not for family with children at all. I know it's a bar, but even the outside patio was subpar for the prices they ask for their food, which were very, very small portions, by the way.

The fish tacos were hard, meaning more bread than fish and over cooked barely could bite them $11 for 2 smh, and when i asked for more sauce, it was like i was asking for too much.

The garlique langostinos was overcooked and stuck together, and for 28 dollars, this was ridiculous.

The Asada burrito, which we paid $18, was very, very small, dry, and unfulfilling.

The 1 star trully is for the service and the cevieche even though it was not worth $17 it was not bad as no one can trully mess cevieche up can they...

This was the worst bar my family and I had ever eaten at and for the prices they were asking. I would not recommend it unless you just plan on getting drunk and do not care about what you're eating.

A few things about this place bothered me while eating there. The michelada wasn’t good and the rim had a very sweat tamarind candy that masks the flavor of the drink We ordered a shrimp cocktail and it had cooked and raw gray shrimp inside Their seafood wasn’t in the freezer it was out by the tables. Yes it’s in sealed packaging but idk how long it’s been there on the floor or if they refreeze thawed product. Lastly some waitresses have long nails and were handling food. I also don’t know if they clean thoroughly enough under their nails or not. I can see the potential in this restaurant but they definitely need some improvements. Right now it seems like a bunch of homies that hang out and make okay food which definitely needed more seasoning and a kick Sorry but idk...

Craving shrimp we did a search on Google maps as we passed through Van Nuys today. Cannot express what an amazing find this was for us. Picked because of the good reviews and proximity to where we were, it was lucky for us Catch 818 appeared.

The menu contained almost nothing other than seafood related dishes, and it doesn't need to offer more because when you're the best at something show it off! The menu offered a large variety of ceviche options. We went with the mango cevishe coupled with guacamole. Both were superb.
