Wish I read review before I wasted my time to come here, service was so bad my group and I walked out. Came in Wednesday 9/27 around 1230pm, walk in and bartender on her phone we asked if we can just sit anywhere and she just ignored us. We walked in a bit more and a stocky girl with glasses with attitude told us “I’m your server” so I asked agin “so it’s self seating?” She told us to sit anywhere . We sat at a table mind you the place was empty 1 other person by himself, and another table of 4 besides us. We sat down while she was on her phone texting. Few minutes passed and she came over told us we can sit any table except the one we are at cause it’s dirty. I asked if there was a table with menues and she took offense. And said I didn’t bring menues cause I was running food. Once again places was dead and she was on her phone. So we order sodas and she just went by the bar and got on her phone are a few min of her just on her phone we decided to leave. Horrible service dead as well so no reason for such bad service just seemed they didn’t want to be there, we ended up going around the corner to eat. Have no idea how the food is but if service is an indication...

My family and I ate here before, and the food and service were great, but this time, the service was terrible. The hostess at the front of the restaurant was rude, inattentive, and quite frankly lazy. She told us it was a 20-minute wait for a table. We waited more than 20 minutes, so I went inside to see if it really was that crowded, to which the hostess made an attempt to get my attention to distract me from going inside. The tables were all dirty, and no one was cleaning them. It was then the hostess asked someone to clean a table for us. When we were finally sitting after about 45 minutes at this point, there was still an empty beer bottle and an empty water bottle at the table. When I grabbed them and gave them to the hostess, she acted with such an attitude about getting them. My family and I then waited longer, thinking we were going to order soon, we didn't no waiter or waitress came to the table at all. So we decided to cut our losses and just leave. A whole hour wait just to sit at a dirty table. I can understand that they might have been understaffed, but there was no reason to have that hostess out there on her phone instead of helping out clean...

Delicious food. Super tasty, hot, fresh. Handmade tortillas, unlimited café de la olla, unlimited agua fresca. Everything was so good. We came in this past Sunday after baptizing my baby and we really enjoyed. Even though it was a Sunday, it wasn’t too busy like when they are almost kicking you out lol We really enjoyed everything. The only thing I wish was that they had a bit more of toppings for the food. Like pico de gallo, ensalada de nopales o verduras. Something like that to compliment your food. Our server was Clara the bartender and Wow! She know how to treat people super good. Such a great girl with a super nice smile and really enthusiastic. That’s what makes a good restaurant, good costumer service and delicious food. The prices are a bit expensive if you order from the carta but for buffet it’s perfect. They do add the tips to your check so be aware if you don’t have extra $30 for tips. But for 6 adults and one baby, it was worth it. We will definitely be...

If you wanna be wowed 🤩with some good pre-hispanic Mexican food 🥘 then is the spot! This restaurant really lives up to the plaza olvera name and taste 👅. I wish I could’ve put this review around the time I went but making it as detailed possible 🥰 Think about sabores “flavor” when you order. The servers are very savvy and helpful with their recommendations. Also, the drinks are mind blowing 🤤 Our drinks had mezcal and Marco hooked it up with some amazing sweet, spicy tart and fruity drinks. I would die for these drinks anytime 😬. Good Mexican mixologist. I love the fact that the food and the ambiance is a perfect combination for the experience and taste of Mexico 🇲🇽 👍 Let me tell you it’s a good idea to call in on weekend evenings before visiting because they close if there’s not enough patrons. Follow for more great LA experiences. Street parking or across the restaurant is a parking lot READ THE SIGNS

Just happened to stroll into this fantastic establishment serving up ancestral cuisine of Mexico! The menu is extensive, but what caught my attention was the 6 different types of Mole traditionales! I tried the Chile Nogada, a chile rellenos con mole estilo Puebla! I’ve always wanted to try this and to see it on the menu today was a just a delight! It turns out it’s a seasonal dish only from Mid August to early October in the city of Puebla! The owner honors that tradition and only serves it at this time. The walnut sauce is exquisite with a sweetness due to the many seasonal fruits used in the recipe! Stiffed with walnuts, amines and ground meats, I was transported the colonial cities vibrant colors and culinary flavors! What a wonderful experience and delectable delight! You must try be for the season ends! The chef came to explain its origins and the mil I layers of the flavors! Bien provecho!

This place is awesome, great setting at the back end of the historic Olvera street. 1 gripe is that they serve the guacamole on a bare cutting board. REALLY COOL presentation, I just wish they would put down a barrier between the delicious guacamole and the bare cutting board that is cracked and ruddy as most cutting boards are (I've little doubt it was washed before use as a presentation platter but still). Do that and they get a perfect 5 stars. Like I said, the presentation is really really cool but I only ate from the top of the guacamole mound, being careful to not eat any of the guacamole that was in contact with the bare cutting board. Also: the service was really good. The guy who was the only server at the place was very very busy but gave my table just enough attention to know he gave a s*it but not so much that he was annoying.
