Avoid! This is not an hotel. It's a dorm that rents some of their unused rooms at an hotel-like rate, so you're paying for an hotel service without receiving it. Please, stop advertising this place as an hotel, because it is not. This place has no AC (something that I knew beforehand, and I was OK with that) but the room gets much hotter than the ambient temperature and the fans in the room don't help at all. It would be definitely cooler to sleep outside at night. The whole place is poorly mantained and there is a penetrating stench within the building. You can clearly see stains on the carpet and there was no room service. Management tried to keep a photocopy of my debit card, which is NOT OK and probably even illegal. Management might justify the current state of the building as it being old and historic, but I've been at hotels that are centuries older than this property and they were definitely up to a higher quality of service. If this would haven been listed as an hostal with reasonable prices, I'd give it a better rating without hesitation. But I was expecting and paying for an hotel and your property, services and prices do not adhere to that standard. The only upside is that the staff was friendly and tried its best to accommodate all my requests, so here's a shoutout to them. Sadly, that doesn't make up for the low quality standard that this place is offering. My advice to the management: You should either invest more on your property to elevate your level of service (I've been told that some refurbishing works involving AC installation are expected), or just stop advertising yourselves as an hotel. My advice to travellers: Downtown LA is full of weird people and homeless. Book this place if and only if you're having an emergency and your only alternative is to sleep in the street without a roof, and then move to a proper hotel west or north of the city afterwards. To summarize: Not an hotel, but an overpriced dorm.

Felt unsafe after host unlocked and entered our room without knocking at night while I was out. I left for a walk and then the host entered our room (with his master key presumably) and tried to tell my brother that I had given him my room key: I had not. My brother then wedged the chair under the door handle as he felt unsafe. Didn't expect much as it's obviously a budget offering, but unannounced entry and lying from the host indicate poor service and raise safety concerns of theft and physical safety - we wouldn't stay here again. Other minor issues: - On a very loud street with thin windows: difficult to sleep (lots of revving, yelling, etc outside). - Pillows are very hard. - Room was missing a curtain and one of the closet doors. Pros: - Good location for Little Tokyo/DTLA/Union Station access. - Bedding and towels appeared clean.

The Little Tokyo District is full of fun #foodies #bakeries #retail #shopping #home #decor & amazing #window #shopping #music #street #acts #familyqualitytime #eateries. The hotel has excellent service including a jacuzzi, masseuse, pool, and hot room. The hotel and surrounding areas are so clean and safe. Security is visible everywhere. 🤗
