We decided to go to Las Amigas after reading these reviews and I must say, what were these people eating?
It took us 30 minutes for a server to actually meet us and we saw them a total of 3 times: to order, when our food came and for the check.
Also, our food came out 20 minutes after ordering which wasn't a super long time, but it came out cold and bland. The fajitas chicken completely relied on the peppers and wasn't seasoned a all. The mole poblano tasted like undersweetened cocoa and the cheese that came with the side beans tasted... odd.
Also, I see people claiming that this is "authentic" Mexican food and its far from. I'm barely willing to call this Tex-Mex considering I'm from Texas and this barely meets those requirements as well.
I would have been more willing to give the server a break with how long he was coming around if there were a lot of people there, but there were only maybe three more tables with roughly 2-3 people each and with more than one server working. We looked around to see if we just had a bad server, nope. Seemed like this was the normal way servers treat the customers.
Overall, I won't be coming back here again, simply because the food is just not that great and overpriced for what it us... Also, no...
Read moreI’ve never wrote a review on a place before so here it goes . I’m giving 2 stars just because the customer service was good . They were very nice . But the food was awful . I’m so sad to say that after reading these reviews ,I thought it was going to be so delicious. We ordered 6 tacos de asada , a quesadilla , a Jamaica and horchata. First thing the that went wrong was they gave us tacos of ground beef . We didn’t say anything because we did not want to be rude and have them take them back. But that wasn’t the main problem . Those tacos had no flavor . The tortillas were so dry ,no seasoning ,no love . The ingredients, the meat was so bland it tasted like I microwaved a cold tortilla and threw in whatever leftovers I had in it from 2 days ago . The quesadilla was the same lacked seasoning . The jamaica was decent and the horchata was watery . Instead of chips they just gave us 2 tostadas with some watery guacamole and their salsas were old and lacked flavor . We love olvera street but the food service at this place really...
Read moreBefore the Covid, this restaurant had the best tacos ! I went to the taco stand today La Nacho Bueno in Olivera Street downtown LA . Their recipe has changed their tacos were terrible. They only put a tablespoon of meat in the shredded beef taco, there was more tomatoes and lettuce and cheese. I was very disappointed. I called the restaurant and told them for $14.68 I end up throwing most of it away. It had no flavor. I didn’t even get my pickled jalapeño and I requested for my tacos. The guy on the phone continue to argue at me and stated he had the best tacos in all of the Olvera Street. They did have the best tacos, but but not no more and I’ll never go back. You don’t wanna go there. It’s disappointing and you don’t get much meat in your tacos. “WHERE IS THE BEEF?...
