We decided to go to Las Amigas after reading these reviews and I must say, what were these people eating?

It took us 30 minutes for a server to actually meet us and we saw them a total of 3 times: to order, when our food came and for the check.

Also, our food came out 20 minutes after ordering which wasn't a super long time, but it came out cold and bland. The fajitas chicken completely relied on the peppers and wasn't seasoned a all. The mole poblano tasted like undersweetened cocoa and the cheese that came with the side beans tasted... odd.

Also, I see people claiming that this is "authentic" Mexican food and its far from. I'm barely willing to call this Tex-Mex considering I'm from Texas and this barely meets those requirements as well.

I would have been more willing to give the server a break with how long he was coming around if there were a lot of people there, but there were only maybe three more tables with roughly 2-3 people each and with more than one server working. We looked around to see if we just had a bad server, nope. Seemed like this was the normal way servers treat the customers.

Overall, I won't be coming back here again, simply because the food is just not that great and overpriced for what it us... Also, no...

I’ve never wrote a review on a place before so here it goes . I’m giving 2 stars just because the customer service was good . They were very nice . But the food was awful . I’m so sad to say that after reading these reviews ,I thought it was going to be so delicious. We ordered 6 tacos de asada , a quesadilla , a Jamaica and horchata. First thing the that went wrong was they gave us tacos of ground beef . We didn’t say anything because we did not want to be rude and have them take them back. But that wasn’t the main problem . Those tacos had no flavor . The tortillas were so dry ,no seasoning ,no love . The ingredients, the meat was so bland it tasted like I microwaved a cold tortilla and threw in whatever leftovers I had in it from 2 days ago . The quesadilla was the same lacked seasoning . The jamaica was decent and the horchata was watery . Instead of chips they just gave us 2 tostadas with some watery guacamole and their salsas were old and lacked flavor . We love olvera street but the food service at this place really...

Before the Covid, this restaurant had the best tacos ! I went to the taco stand today La Nacho Bueno in Olivera Street downtown LA . Their recipe has changed their tacos were terrible. They only put a tablespoon of meat in the shredded beef taco, there was more tomatoes and lettuce and cheese. I was very disappointed. I called the restaurant and told them for $14.68 I end up throwing most of it away. It had no flavor. I didn’t even get my pickled jalapeño and I requested for my tacos. The guy on the phone continue to argue at me and stated he had the best tacos in all of the Olvera Street. They did have the best tacos, but but not no more and I’ll never go back. You don’t wanna go there. It’s disappointing and you don’t get much meat in your tacos. “WHERE IS THE BEEF?...

We loved this place so much, we went twice in one day! After taking the train in, we stopped for a quick snack—2 taquitos for just $4. The food was delicious, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier, especially Diego who really stood out with his warm service. The atmosphere is charming, tucked right in the heart of Olvera Street. After exploring Chinatown, we came back for dinner and were just as impressed. I had the #7 combo—2 taquitos, rice, beans, and a chicken tamale for only $13! My husband’s burrito was also generously sized and the same price. This place offers incredible value without skimping on quality or service. While other spots nearby seem to overcharge tourists, this gem keeps it real. Don’t miss it if you’re in the area!

This place is HANDS DOWN. The BEST home-cooked meal you will EVER have here in the heart of LA. I had combination plate "0". Taco, tamal, taquito. The taco a picadillo. That ground beef was so good. It all felt like I was sitting next to my mom talking and eating. The tamal was tamal de puerco. That masa was INSANE. So good. Yet so soft.. And the puerco (pork). The flavor was uncanny. Soft. Yet packed so. Much. Flavor. Now... The Taquito.. The overall taste of the fried tortilla, and the shredded beef. I swear my mom made it. This place deserves so much love. But any who. Come here. Try it out. And show some love. And enjoy!!

I've been trying more menudo so now I kinda know what to expect in terms of taste, what is in the dish, etc. Besides the different stomach parts, you can also add pork feet (chân giò) in the menudo here. I tried and didn't really like that since it made the soup too fatty; I think the original version would be better for me. Here, you can have menudo with normal tortillas and fried ones. The place is pretty small. But even if you have to wait for a table, you can walk around and see the different shops on Olvera street, so the wait wouldn't be bad at all.
