Ordered Shrimp fried rice. Dumplings, and egg drop soup. Egg drop soup was not thoroughly detailed at all when I called the place, the person who told me that the soup was “hard to describe” and only was “made for order”. He did not tell me the consistency nor the texture of the egg drop soup. When I asked about texture of the soup on whether if it’s thick (traditionally it is thick, flavorful, and fragrance) or is it watery, the response was “soup-like” in this case, watery and can be compared to a normal soup. Answers were not clear at all. The soup was watery, bland, and inconsistent, with the inconsistency that can be compared to a boba drink with boba at the bottom, in this case, the peas were the boba. The place also charges you for wonton crispy crackers separately for soups that does not even meet the traditional Chinese cuisine standards, under average to further express. A disappointment for $11.00. The shrimp fried rice was decent, good amount of shrimps was added but the rice seems to be stale and oily at the bottom. This specific order seems to look as if it were mechanically assembled with shrimp being added to the top cooked separately or added from a separate container that was filled with shrimp and not actually cooked together. In other words, the “shrimp fried rice” seems like they just added shrimp to the top of a container of “fried rice” and then call it “shrimp fried rice” (shrimp fried rice seems to not appear to be cooked with the fried rice). Dumplings seems to be adequate, there was a nice crispy outer layer at the bottom of the dumplings and moist inner filling. This order seems to retain the intended recipe and the traditional steps.

I will never ever buy from here again. On 12/08/2024 i ordered three plates, one teriyaki chicken, one kunpao chicken and one orange chicken. It was the most disgusting chicken in my life. It tasted as if it was rotten. I didn’t even eat it, we had to throw it out. I tried calling them but they don’t answer.

For the price, I think it is a sufficient place to get Chinese food. I enjoyed the chow mien and orange chicken. The orange chicken was well coated and filling. The chow mien was not salty either. The service was quick and straight forward.

They are very rude , unsanitary, and cheap!!! We have been loyal customers for over 20 years, I have ordered takeout, delivered, and dined it when they had tables available before COVID and yet they still haven’t made any changes or renovations to anything. Same staff has been there for years and even the same menu and cups have been sitting there with dust. Everytime me and my family would get food there they would always serve very little food and not give us any Sauce when we would ask they would want to charge us. There vegetables are never fresh and the chicken overall tastes questionable and chewy, and overall the orange chicken is never really chicken just what surrounds it. Purposely they don’t give enough sauce when you order egg rolls or big amounts of food. Very cheap and dirty people seems like the place is never cleaned either. I suggest you don’t eat here, Will not be coming back, anyone who comes here should be aware of how sanitary and cheap the place and the...

There aren't many Chinese food restaurants in Sylmar so it's a good thing we have China Express. The restaurant is a dining room with a cafeteria counter at the far end where you order and watch them package your food. It's easy to dismiss this place because of its looks, but this has become my go-to for Chinese food because they serve the same style and quality that I used to get at dine-in restaurants in other parts of Los Angeles. I'm not saying it's gourmet, because it's not, but it's good quality food that has developed a lot of loyalty. I've been going here for years and in that time I have noticed that their prices, portion sizes, and quality haven't changed. I've also noticed the A grade in their window has also...
