Worst experience I’ve ever had. I like the food so I came today and the lady helping customers was so rude. She not only took the people behind me before she took me, barely gave me any service because she started talking to her coworker, didn’t even bother to give me utensils she had to give me because they have them in the back, but she was just so rude. I was the only one in the restaurant and she “claimed” she didn’t know who came first even though she looked over and greeted me when I came in and greeted the other customers when they came in too. I decided not to say anything further but was visibly upset. Honestly I’d say I want her fired or an apology at the very least because she was actively being rude and didn’t care. There’s another cashier there that’s so sweet and I had a good first experience but after this time I’m making sure not to come back which is a shame because the food is good. I don’t know if it’s because the people behind me were Hispanic and older and I don’t “look” Hispanic even though I am but if that’s how they run their business I’m not...
Read moreAwesome little bakery that includes breakfast and lunch items along with your typical Mexican sweet breads. The tamales are exceptional. I tried the chicken (pollo con papas y chili) and the corn tamale (elote). I was surprised to find out my chicken tamale was also stuffed with potatoes and green chilies since they simply tell you it's a pollo tamale. That was such an awesome deal! They were 2/$5 and they were available pretty early in the morning, I think around 10 am. The masa (flour) was beautifully well-done. Soft and moist on the inside while maintaining a firm texture. Salted perfectly. Chicken had awesome flavor. Potatoes were firm and the way they were cooked matched the texture of the chicken and chilies delightfully.
I haven't tried the other offerings at Continental but I would gladly go back. The ladies behind the counter were so very kind to the customers, too! I loved it and hope to...
Read moreUpon walking in I noticed that there is no menu what so ever. I asked the ladies behind the desk if they could make a latte and they both looked confused. Take in mind that they are selling milk by the jug and packaged ham, eggs, cheese and an assortment of energy drinks in freezers as you enter. They have a burrito bar now which looks less than impressive. No bagels, croissants, very few muffins, mostly sweet breads. Also I was at this place on a Sunday morning and the music they were playing belonged in a Latin nightclub on a Friday night. If you want to try this bakery, go somewhere else in the NoHo...
