I was just surprised to know there is an Argentine restaurant in Tarzana. The place looks casual and unassuming, but the steaks served here are top rate char grilled Argentine style steak that take you back to the fancy parilla places in Buenos Aires.
I had the rib eye steak. It came as a massive sizable serving that can easily feed 2 people. Paired with the chimichurri sauce, it will totally transport you that place in Palermo you tried while in Argentina.
There is a bottle of red sauce you might mistaken for a Tabasco sauce but it is not! It is actually a special sauce made from chili and truffle. It is not super spicy but still has a slight zing to it. It is a must try.
Gabriel the owner was there when I came. He is a super nice guy. He offered me an empanada for being there for the first time. I learned he was a personal chef of a few LA celebrity over the years.
They are only open 4 days a week from Thursday to Sunday from noon to 9pm.
I’ll go on to say that Corrientes 348 is one of the most undiscovered, authentic Argentine steak spot in LA - at an incredibly reasonable price !

Empanadas are $3.5. There is a chicken, beef and a vegetables version. The beef is better in my opinion.

Tried the sandwich today. Sandwich de Entraña - skirt steak sandwich is what I tried. The sandwich was gigantic. It can feed 2 people easily. Steak was super juicy!

Tried the bife de chorizo sandwich today. For $20, it is one of the best deal around. Look at the size of the 2 slabs of NY Strip in that sandwich. It is massive! With a bit of chimichurri sauce and a bit of salt, you’ll be having a...
Read moreWe just found our new favorite local restaurant. Corrientes 348 is our new secret gem in the valley. We stopped in for lunch because we both felt like having a steak, and did we make the right choice or what!? First of all, yes it’s in a little mini-mall. Don’t let that deter you. When you step inside, all of the seating is new and comfortable, the service was the perfect, and everything we ate was absolutely delicious. Plus there’s great music playing in the background. Even the restroom is stylish, clean, and had a candle going and felt like we were in a higher end restaurant. Not sure if it’s standard, but they brought us a couple of empanadas (one chicken and one beef ) on the house while we waited for our appetizers (I had a Caesar and my husband had the chorizo ) Speaking of generosity, we both took at least half of our steak home. They are huge! Mine came with the french fries and my husband had platanos (fried bananas). Pro tip: We asked for extra chimichurri for our to-go boxes. It’s some of the best you’ve ever had. We live in lake Balboa, and we’ve already decided that we’ll be grabbing some of our neighbors/friends for a local...
Read moreMy absolute favorite restaurant in the entire LA area! When was the last time a restaurant made you genuinely giddy? Better still, when was the last time that a dining experience was so filled with joyous surprises that it was positively magical?
For me, I discover a restaurant like that about once a decade, and Corrientes 348 is my new Happy Place. Very large portions, peerless quality, extraordinary taste, a wonderfully broad menu, and some of the best service I've ever experienced in my life! Let me elaborate: our waiter (who is also the chef and owner) was attentive, jovial, engaging, and even mindful of my budget! When was the last time you had the owner of a business caution you about ordering something, just in case it proved overfilling?
Everything--the chimichurri, the empanadas, the sausage, the steak, the plantains, and even the flan, and I don't usually like flan--were all to die for.
Seriously, on every single dimension, this place is a treasure. You should go. Now! If I could give it 10 stars, I would, and it would deserve them all. I went there on my birthday weekend and it was genuinely THE highlight of the...
