I typically wouldn’t raise concerns like this, but I feel it’s necessary in this case because the owner is responsible for the shop. I encountered an issue with a staff member, Maria, who didn’t acknowledge the problem. When I pointed out the presence of gnats and fruit flies on the food, she argued with me, insisting there was nothing wrong, even as other customers began to notice and discard their food.

I mentioned that I would inform the owner, as the situation is quite concerning. If anyone has a weak stomach regarding bugs in food, I wouldn't recommend watching the video I recorded. This incident occurred at Tia Donuts on Reseda in Oxnard, where they pride themselves on fresh products made every morning. However, during my visit in the afternoon, the shop was busy, and Maria asked me to wait. The only food stored properly in a sealed bin was the bagels. The doors to the donuts and pastries were left open, which is unsanitary.

While the customer service was acceptable, the staff appeared to be experiencing difficulties with prior orders, resulting in some confusion and repetition among customers. This seemed to be an isolated incident, and I am willing to provide them with another opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities. Although my visit was limited to the purchase of a bagel, the offerings appeared appetizing, and I do not believe that my experience accurately reflected the establishment's typical level of service.
