As a long-time customer since 2016, I am deeply saddened to write this review about my recent visit to this particular location of the restaurant. Over the years, I have enjoyed numerous pleasant experiences at this establishment, but my most recent visit was an absolute nightmare that left me questioning my loyalty.

Upon arrival, my boyfriend and I were promptly seated, expecting the usual excellent service and delicious food. However, what followed was an agonizing wait of over 1.5 hours before our food was finally prepared. To make matters worse, we noticed that three other parties who were seated after us were served their orders well before we were even acknowledged.

Feeling frustrated and ignored, we decided it was time to leave. However, as we were on the verge of leaving the parking lot, the owner harassed us while we were in the car and blatantly lied, claiming that our food had been prepared and was just about to be served. It became apparent that his only intention was to collect our payment and prevent us from leaving the premises. It was a clear display of disrespect and disregard for our time and satisfaction.

I find it deeply disheartening that the owners of this establishment, whom I had previously respected, have demonstrated such a lack of care for their customers. This incident is not an isolated one, as I have experienced rude behavior from them on multiple occasions. It is clear that they do not value their customers or take their satisfaction seriously.

As a result of this distressing encounter, I have made the decision to no longer support this restaurant. I believe in supporting establishments that appreciate their customers and provide a high standard of service. I will be taking my business elsewhere, where my loyalty and patronage are valued.

It is my sincere hope that the owners reflect on their actions and make necessary changes to improve their customer service. Until then, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this restaurant to others. There are plenty of other establishments that prioritize their customers and treat them with the respect...

Omg! I was looking for vegetarian options, “something different, “ and I ran across this little gem of Chinese food vegetarian style. Who knew?

I did my research and read many reviews, and there were two that weren’t four or five stars. Did I mention I read a lot of them …….So I checked it out! I tried to order online for delivery, but unfortunately, after a long while, choosing my menu items, I eventually decided to call them (THE ONLY HAVE PICK-UP NO DELIVERY )even though the app suggests it has delivery options and the woman I spoke to said to choose Grub Hub (Not Even Grub Hub would accepted it So I called back when I called them on the phone this time, they advised pick up only and apologized )

Usually, I would've given up after all this; SO glad I didn’t! I ordered over the phone. Pick up 20 and it was ready 🤗

I'm not a big eater, and it was just myself; however, I ordered many different items to try a few things.

I got the golden tofu which, quite honestly, is the only thing I can say wasn’t for me; the texture and the color were good; however, it was flavorless, unfortunately.

Everything else was perfect. I got Szechuan wonton vegetarian wontons with spinach and pinenuts in them. Can I say amazing! I got Szechuan beef which ultimately looks like Szechuan beef; amazingly, this is“mock meat” My husband would never know! (I’m genuinely not clear on whether the noodles are vegan or not question to ask them next time I go. )

I also got chicken with flat noodles, vegetables done perfectly, the flavor was spot on, and my absolute favorite was the summer rolls; oh my God, it tasted like and felt like it had chicken in it; however, it was tofu with lots of cilantro &herbs served with a plum sauce!

A lady came in when I was paying, and I asked her what she gets and things about Golden wok; she said she loves this place. Her children and herself are not vegetarians. She consistently receives the stuffed chicken for sure, and Among several other dishes I can’t remember right now, she’s not even vegetarian and loves this place. Go check it out, people!

You will miss out...

The friendly and delicious GARDEN WOK is an excellent, family owned, Taiwanese, vegan restaurant. All the "standard" Americanized Chinese dishes are served. When I bring my meat eating friends they are always surprised, "This vegan stuff tastes like regular Chinese."

Garden Wok has been voted LA's best vegan, Chinese restaurant, many times. Owner and Chef Hsiueh Chiueh's (aka Sherry) menu includes analogs of fish, chicken, beef, and pork. Both brown and white rice are available. And, of course, a pot of Jasmine or green tea.

Our server, Bill, is friendly and knowledgeable.

You might begin your meal with Sizzling Rice Soup. It's a warm, delicious broth, containing vegan shrimp or chicken, tofu, carrots, broccoli, seaweed, and, of course, sizzling rice. Soup is served family style (bowl with 5 or 6 serving), or as a large individual serving.

Then, add a couple of appetizers.

The Chicken Drumette has a crisp crust and a soft,"meaty" center. This unique, specialty is served with a sweet plum dipping sauce and, if requested, spicy Chinese mustard. (Try mixing four parts sweet plum, with one part hot mustard, for a sauce with a gentle warmth.)

Bursting with flavor, Cream Cheese Wontons are a flower shaped pleasure. A blend of vegan cream cheese, spinach, minced water chestnuts and white pepper are wrapped in a wonton skin, then deep fried. A flower emerges with opening petals. Pull apart and enjoy.

Among their menu selections is Beef or Chicken With Pea Pods. These delicious dishes includes carrots and water chestnuts. A garlic sauce completes the entrees.

The off-menu, Mongolian BBQ, a mix of thin, slices of vegan beef and minced veggies, is stir fried, then finished with a brown garlic sauce. It's a sumptuous pleasure.

Servings are large. There will be leftovers. What would a Chinese restaurant be without something to take home? You'll be hungry later.

STUFF: Prices are moderate. Parking and Wi-Fi are free. There is wheelchair accessible parking, tables, and a...

Its been a bit since we last came here. This time we got the Golden Tofu Squares, the Basil Eggplant, bok choi and mushrooms, and lastly, the kung pao chicken. Overall, everything was good, but there wasn't as much seasoning as I would have liked. But, being that this is a healthy restaurant, it probably was better for me :-). Also, my wife asked for no spice on the kung pao as it didn't have any spice. Our mistake The atmosphere is comfortable. The server was alone handling 3 tables and take out orders. Things took slightly longer than normal, but not too long. Next time I'll remember to include spice on the kung pao. Despite that, its worth the trip here.
