I grew up across the street from this establishment when it was a different ownership. I was in the area and decided to walk in for the first time in 10 years. It looked very welcoming and appealing at glance so I decided to give it a try. I asked for a menu to confirm if they had the dish I was craving. Kung Pao Chicken over rice. The young lady asked was I going to have it to go and I replied that I would eat it here. I asked if she could add the egg but that I didn't like it fried or easy over I would like it scrambled. She said they couldn't do it.
I didn't understand why they couldn't simply scramble the eggs. She said they couldn't do it regardless that I don't eat runny yolk on an egg. I said ok no eggs and she proceeded to ring me up first even though I'm dinning inside the restaurant. I asked her why did she ring me up so fast if I'm dining in? She said I thought you were taking it to go. I said to her that it was for here. She then says why should it matter? I said in a restaurant you usually charge the patron after the meal has been eaten. It's been that way forever. It's common courtesy. She was not very welcoming and clearly in my opinion did not want me to dine inside.
I felt she was stereotyping me and assumed that I may ditch the bill possibly because the area is known for acute homelessness and drug users and deals with its share of crimes. I am none of those assumptions. I didn't like the way she made me feel. She was NOT friendly, didn't smile and was a little rude. Mind you, I am a 28 year Los Angeles City employee and was wearing my badge but clearly that meant nothing. I was charged before my meal was even prepared and I dined in. She didn't even greet me on the way in or on the way out. I will not be coming back and I will be sharing this terrible experience on my social media platform as I'm very well connected in the community and outside the community. I will not stand for prejudice.
I treat everyone with respect and would never make anyone feel the way she made me feel. I did not enjoy the Kung Pao Chicken either. My advice to them is to treat everyone the same because you never know who you are...
Read moreI live nearby, and have been dining here for almost 6yrs for breakfast or late lunch with almost the same dish, the egg omelet with pork on rice. I ate here one night, the lady on the cashier charged me $28, I asked why since on the menu it was just $18 (still overpriced), she said because she charged the rice separately. They are making their customers look stupid, why would you charge the rice separetly when in your menu it clearly says rice is a topping of this dish. I even told her I dine in this restaurant for 5 yrs already, and it’s my first time to hear this kind of charge for a dish I ate with them for 5 yrs. she was just like “ok” do you want to talk to the boss? I told her I won’t eat there anymore, she was just ok, i don’t care. Everybody should know, they try to overcharge their unknowing customers, this was not the first time they have done this to me, the first one I forgave them since when caught the morning lady corrected her overcharge but this time I can see that they are doing iy deliberately not...
Read moreThe food was really yucky. Too much oil and the noodles were All stuck together and broken, and not like noodles. . Then the old man that took the order over the phone was very rude. He had hard of hearing . I had to keep repeating myself so loudly. He was yelling at me on the phone then finally got the order and he hung up on me abruptly after that. He did that twice. When I went to the restaurant to pick up my order, he wasn’t even greeting me nicely . never even said hi or thank you. The food was disgusting. I felt like throwing up after eating it. I wasted the $20 , driving 30min to the restaurant, be treated like trash and ate some horrible quality food that looked and tasted like vomit. I will never come back to this disgusting restaurant again especially with a mean and grumpy deaf old man that...
