Full disclosure, I know a lot of the staff who opened this place from previous work, so it’s impossible to be completely impartial.

That said I don’t sugarcoat the truth, even for friends.

Those disclaimers in mind, from entry to exit:

1. I would never leave my car under an overpass except they’ve got a proper parking lot plus street parking, all of which are under the watchful eyes of one of the best doormen in LA who I would trust with my life. Truly. I’m a big guy who can handle myself, but security here is headed by someone I would run to crying if I was scared…here you’re safe.

2. Bartenders are all hand selected by a very experienced and talented co-owner who has been envisioning this forever, and managed to pull off great drinks and atmosphere with a level of professionalism and sobriety not often seen in this world. A large part of that is staffing with great people, talent, and teamwork…people great at their jobs who work as a team.

3. The menu isn’t totally ready yet- or maybe they were out because I showed up at 1045, so I was disappointed I couldn’t try the Canada-meets-LA-Mex-style-Poutine, but the burger was great, (I’m eating the other half for lunch as I type…even kept cold overnight and reheated it’s great.)

4. Atmosphere- from the rugs when you first walk in to the bar, bathrooms, and pool tables in the back, everything is clean, friendly, and feels more like a speakeasy where everyone is respectful…this isn’t some popup club to go pick a fight in, this is the real deal of showing what a locals spot should be.

5. complaints: if there’s anything, it’s the lack of a proper dining room (there are booths with tables and the bar, but this isn’t a gastro-pub, it’s a bar that serves good food…so…not really a complaint, but be advised you’re not going to a restaurant. Oh, and the pool tables only take quarters. It’s 2024, who carries change?

Please bar in mind that I'm not a bar person and don't drink alcohol. I only go to bars to hang out/socialize if that's the designated spot.

It has a cute design but very limited menu items (eg) for non-alcoholic drinks. Vegans/Vegetarians gonna have a hard time. Food is pretty tasty.

Bathrooms are actually pretty spacious but could use more maintenance/cleaning. While there are ample tables, it's very hard and the music in such a cramp space makes it difficult to speak. There's a pool table in...
