SushiStop Sawtelle South — Restaurant in Los Angeles

If I could give this place less than 1 star I would, every time me and my partner come here something is wrong , went for my bday lunch and they kept serving the table beside us our food (mind you they got there 40 minutes after us) another time we sat by the bar and there were bugs and mosquitoes crawling/flying on the floor and all around as well as only giving us one miso soup when we ordered 2 and tried charging us for that thankfully that waiter was understanding and took it off. This last time (and last time I will ever come here) I ordered my fave truffle salmon sashimi and it tasted fishy but I figured that was normal but it was still weird and off tasting (i ordered 2) once I got to the 2nd plate almost every single one had bones stabbing me in the mouth and I had to spit them out and lost my appetite, we told the waiter but she didnt care and still charged us, ALSO dropped our cards on the floor and laughed and made another employee pick them up then proceeded to come back with boxes and when I tried to just clear off the table she shook the box at me…. Now the final ending of my long review ever since that day I have been dealing with THE WORST stomach pain and constantly using the bathroom for over a week , planning on going to ER tomorrow to see if I have worms because I seen something in my stool that looked like one!!!! Awful...

If you're wanting a cheap sushi fix, Sushi Stop is definitely the spot to go. Just make sure you're not completely starving because there will most likely be a wait. We went for dinner on a random night and waited for about an hour. If you don't have cash (CASH ONLY) handy, the wait time will give you some time to grab some money at an ATM nearby. They also have one in the restaurant.

Most of the dishes are $3.25. You get 2 pieces of sushi per order, 8 pieces for the basic rolls, and 4 pieces for the specialty rolls. They've got pretty interesting sashimi plates as well. Since everything is fairly priced and the plates are smaller, you can order a whole bunch of different things to try.

Our favourite bites of the night: seared pepper tuna, truffle salmon, popcorn shrimp roll, California roll, chopped scallop roll.

While it is a great spot to hit up for cheap sushi, it's by far not the freshest. I also found the rolls a little rice heavy and lacked the finesse of really good sushi rice. I would recommend sticking to the basic rolls, sushi, and sashimi. While the speciality rolls are more interesting to look at, they didn't quite deliver...

Extremely rude staff, I would stay away the food might be ok but the experience is horrifying, I don't think I will be back and I will sure find another place , it's just not worth the aggravation, from reading other reviews it seems that many customers share my sentiment and management doesn't seem to be doing anything about it. My advise is to train your staff or you will be loosing many loyal customers like myself

Thank you for responding to my message, I would like to come back but not before your staff is trained a bit better, this is not the first time, I showed up to pick up my food at the time I was told and when I got there and asked for my order, the person upfront said "I don't know maybe 20 30 minutes" I explained that I placed the order over an hour ago but I was completely ignored, i waited another 25 minutes and after asking several times I finally got my food almost tossed at me (I am not , exaggerating) without a word said, the worse part is how rude and unprofessional there were about it, anyway my review is not meant to hurt you business but to hopefully be help you provide a better...
