El Nuevo Guanakito — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I like this place because the Pupusas are good and pretty big. You can customize them. I say that because I've gone to a few places you can't customize your pupusas. The restaurant has the basics, not fancy but overall the good service. They aren't racist here when I bring my African American friend. I went to another one near by and treat us really bad. Made me not want to go back. They are friendlier here, that's for sure. Something's are off but it works😒. Served the water with melted ice, the picture shows how the water came. One of the worst service I have experienced for a restaurant. I called in early for an order to pick up and they told me it would be ready in 35 minutes. I arrive at the restaurant 35 minutes later to pay for the food and they did not have it ready. I watch as they start making my order right then and there. Restaurant was empty and not busy on a later afternoon. As other people show up to pick up Uber orders, they give them the orders promptly while I wait an additional 25 minutes. You can tell good food...by the smell. Yes, come-on-in...the food is fine. Beautifully prepared by cooks who "know their stuff." Pleasent people greet and seat you. Salvadorean cuisine is delicious when it's prepared well...and this is. Crowded for a Monday night. Family style seating...T.V. ...Juke Box...all ad to the cultural atmosphere.
