Fat Tomato Pizza is located conveniently in Koreatown and is the perfect spot for a group meal with friends (takeout/delivery too!). I love the option to do half and half pies! They make their dough in house (you can see it mixing behind the register) which is great, and all their food is baked if you’re trying to eat on the healthier side. Here’s what we got:
Sweet Potato Pizza: By far my favorite, sweet and savory and super unique.
Truffle Mushroom Pizza: My next favorite, a must try for truffle lovers like me!
Fat Tomato Works: Loaded with all the goodies you could dream of, but because of that it’s super heavy so beware!
Caprese: Looks pretty but was the most underwhelming of the bunch, basically just your average margherita pie but with slices of tomatoes on it.
K-Town Salad: Loved the sundried tomatoes, goat cheese, and almonds!
Baked Wings: WOW, some of the best wings I’ve had in a while. Super juicy and flavorful. Loved the garlic sauce for dipping.
Baked Mozzarella Sticks: Has that delicious cheese pull quality that you want from a mozz stick, nothing special but definitely a high quality version of the dish!
Fat Garlic Knots: Made using their housemade pizza dough, again nothing insane here but a really good take on a classic dish.
Cheesecake: Thicker and not as creamy as I was hoping, but had a unique, cheesier than usual flavor that I really liked!
Overall, we enjoyed our meal at Fat Tomato and would definitely recommend them, especially the Sweet Potato & Truffle Mushroom pizzas...
Read moreThe restaurant owner left me a nasty response, so I’ve decided to post this again. If you care and are educated, you wouldn’t argue with your customers. Instead, take the review as feedback and focus on improving. If you read your reviews on Google and Yelp, you’d know your pizza and service are mediocre. You just proved my point about your bad attitude when I came to pick up the order. Do you judge people based on their appearance or clothing? That’s a pathetic way to run a restaurant.
Original review: I used to order from here all the time when they first opened, but the pizza quality and service kept getting worse, so I stopped. After three years, I decided to give it another shot and ordered a half-and-half pizza. Since it’s eight slices, I expected four slices of each topping, but two of them had no toppings at all, just plain cheese. Annoying, but whatever.
Then I ordered again, this time their menu “The Works,” and all I got was a pizza overloaded with onions that somehow tasted bitter. If you’re going to be this stingy with toppings, why even run a pizza place? And if you’re charging more than other spots, at least make it worth the price.
Service: On top of that, when I went to pick up my order, the young Gen Z staff member just handed me the pizza—no pepper flakes, no cheese, no plates. If there was a sign saying you have to ask for them, fine, but there wasn’t. And the middle-aged Korean guy working there? If you don’t speak much English, at least learn some basic business phrases or try being polite. What are we doing?
Yeah, I’m definitely not coming back.
Read moreWe have been buy here for the last 5 years as I thought the pizza was pretty decent compared to others. My husband sometimes gets discriminated by Koreans and was once again discriminated against. He walked in to order pizza for our family. When he walked in the Korean guy with very little English looked him up and down and said they were out of single slices that they sell. My husband then asked the Korean guy what made him think that he was there for a slice. The Korean man proceeds to ignore him and turn away, no apology or interest to service him. I enjoyed the pizza although it is a little overpriced but what happened with my husband is unacceptable and no longer will buy...
