After a night of moderate drinking at a local bar (yeah, right!) we spilled out into the streets like an up-ended box of tic-tacs. I looked down at my watch. It read 2 am... and a hot pang of dread slowly trickled its way down into our stomachs. Where were we going to aquire the life-giving food at this hour?

After a quick Google search we discovered that Chicken Day was open until 4 am. This fact alone was enough to get us through the door. What happened after was an epic journey into an ethereal plane of ecstasy and abundance. We ordered both the bulgogi and Korean pepper boneless fried chicken. Each bite of the smokey bulgogi flavor transported me back to my childhood, where we would light dumpsters on fire and bask in the glow. The Korean pepper flavor was spicy and sweet like my gay uncle Ricardo. And just like his mustache, the sauce was thin and assertive. With our heads tipped and mouths gnashing we would occasionally glance over at the awkward teen behind the counter and thank him with our eyes. Yes Chicken Day....

They’re pretty busy in the evenings but most of their orders are takeaway, but we didn’t have trouble finding a seat. The ttukbokki portion was kind of small to be honest for the price, but it tasted pretty good, nothing special. As for the chicken, I recommend getting the whole chicken if you have a big enough party, it tastes really great with a variety of meat, just be careful with the bones. One thing is they forgot to give us the radish but it wasn’t a big deal. The chicken was crispy outside and really juicy and soft inside, the Korean spice chicken was really unique and not a traditional Korean flavor, I tasted some cinnamon! Wasn’t bad at all. My personal favorite was the...

I ordered the original fried chicken wings (후라이드) and the honey lemon wings. I like the original fried flavor. It has a strong egg yolk taste which I love! And most importantly, it is not overly salty. I did not have to drink lots of water after eating them like the ones from some other fried chicken places. The honey lemon flavor tastes very interesting. It’s a taste that I’ve never had elsewhere. Lemon makes it really refreshing. It is not greasy (느끼해) at all, but at the same time, it doesn’t really satisfy my craving for oily fried chicken Lol. It also tastes more like roasted than fried. So if you are looking for a “healthier” fried chicken, this is for you.

DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES TO PEANUTS!!! I placed a pickup order and when I got home my chicken had finely chopped peanuts on it. No where on their menu says their food is topped with peanuts. So i called the restaurant to see if I can get it remade and the employee said I can just pick it off. I explained to him that is not possible due to it being contaminated with peanuts and Reiterated that I’m allergic to peanuts he simply just repeated what he said, that i can just take it off since its only on the top. As someone who works in restaurants I’ve never experienced this behavior before and will not be dining at this restaurant ever again.
