My boyfriend and I like shopping at the Dollar Tree on La Tijera. Mainly because in the front parking lot there is one of our favorite taco stands. They make fresh tortillas! On this particular day we parked in the back of the store because there is more space and its easier to enter and exit. After shopping we put our bags in the car and about to walk back through the store to the taco stand. On the back of the building we saw the sign "Flamin' Pasta." That morning I had been craving pasta and here it was. We went next to door to check the menu. They have the standards, but what caught my attention was the specialty pastas. We both decided on Cajun Pasta: penne pasta, fresh garlic, butter, shrimp, bell peppers, onions, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, with alfredo sauce, Cajun seasoning, tossed with parmesan cheese, and finished with a touch of parsley. We made it a combo and added a salad and garlic bread for $5.99. You can choose a soda instead of the garlic bread... go for the garlic bread. We could have chosen different dishes and shared, but I don't share my food. Oscar, at the counter was so friendly and helpful. As we were standing in line, Manuel the owner was behind us and we talked about the sign, New Orleans, and food. He's in the photo, make sure to say hi when you see him. We have found out favorite place to get food when we go shopping. Fresh food, original recipes, and affordable. The portions are big, and they have a catering...
Read moreAlthough Italian food doesn’t rank high on my list, Flamin' Pasta completely blew me away. It’s definitely not your typical Italian—it’s something entirely different and way better! The flavors are bold, the portions are huge, and every bite is packed with deliciousness.
I had the Cajun Pasta Shabang (which comes with shrimp, grilled chicken, and bacon crumbles), and it was absolutely amazing. The flavor is mouthwatering, and the spice level is out of this world.
We also tried the classic marinara with penne pasta and Italian chicken sausage, along with a small side salad. Everything tasted incredibly fresh—the veggies were crisp, the pasta was cooked to perfection, and the spices were just right. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the portions are huge—one bowl could last me three days!
On top of that, the staff is super friendly and helpful. I also love how close this place is to the airport. I’m telling everyone: if you’re picking someone up or heading home, make sure to stop here! Even if you’re not a big fan of traditional Italian pasta, don’t let that stop you. The flavors here are incredible, and you’ve got to...
Read moreI ran into this place randomly when I was shopping at Amazon Fresh across the street and was looking for a quick lunch. I Googled “lunch” and it came up. I was drawn to the name!
As I walked in, the owner and his partner just stuck me as such good people. They just opened a week or so ago and I could tell the owner has out a lot of effort into his business and really cares about providing the best food and the best service. I love the concept of building your own pasta dish because if you just want to have veggies and leave the meat out, you can.
I had the penne pasta with pesto, custom made with peas, mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes and spinach. I chose the chicken sausage. It was really tasty with a large portion—I’ll have enough for dinner tonight!
The garlic bread is really good and the side salad was amazing! I know it’s just a side salad but this one is different. Highly recommend you try this place if you’re in the area. 😋
The owner is such a nice person who really cares about his product and his customers, let’s make...
