Forman's Whiskey Tavern — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Give a one star tonight for the horrible service from the manager Corey. Very unpleasant experience. I really enjoyed this place but he was not very accommodating to open up another table for my party when there is no rain and he opened two tables for other people. Terrible manager who started yelling at me. Rude manager. Everyone else is nice. Corey needs some improvement in his people skills. Rudest person there tonight.

Edit after comment below. Corey opened more tables for other people that were not under the canopy. Also, did not explain why he would not uncover more tables when he did for other people. I had 2 kids with me and we just needed 30mins-1hr to finish eating. It was not raining for another hour. I appreciate the explanation below and wished that this was the tone I received from Corey but instead he was very hostile and in my face in front my family. I never felt threatened like that before. There was no apologies and very little customer service. Again, I come here almost every weekend the last few months because of the atmosphere and service. So I was very appalled by Corey’s attitude. If I had encountered what you explained below then I would not have felt that way....

You don't go here for the food, and certainly not the fast service. But the drinks are worth it and the energy is great. They allow dogs in the beer garden area, which made this the perfect spot for me. Cute little happy hour shack in the beer garden seems to pop up around 6pm. You wait a long time before getting in an order and then another wait for getting your drink. Everything is ordered at the bar, so that puts a strain on the bartenders. The fish tacos are really not great. Mild flavored mangos, tasteless sauce, basic flour tortilla, and unevenly breaded fish make an underwhelming experience. During happy hour they're $3 for two tacos, so that deal isn't too bad. The garlic Parmesan fries have a good crunch, but raw garlic bits and minimal cheese make it an overpriced basket. They charged the same price for my mocktail as a real cocktail, which threw me off. But the taste of the drinks were great!

Limited parking in the back, with option to double park your friends' cars, which is a bonus.

Overall, would come back for the energy and drinks, and with a lowered expectation for the food and...

Definitely has that bar/tavern feel

Met my best friend here to celebrate her completely her schooling as moves her way up to being a nurse practitioner and what better placr than cheers than a tavern? Well... don't get me wrong, the food was good (never had corn in my ceviche before) and the staff was friendly, but it was constantly boisterous. Like, in an "I'm also too old for this" kind of way. And you have to secure your seat or table before you order because you ordee yoir drinks and food at the bar rather than a server coming to you. So, bring company in other words.

The drinks you do have to collect yourself but the food is brought out to you by wait staff. And they come around and retrieve anything that looks done with.

The drinks ...are delicious...and strong. That alone was well worth the visit. We had between the two of us: The Pineapple Spicy Margarita, the Watermelon slushy, The Huntsman Bounty and...hmm... and something else.

All in all, not a bad place for a...
