Had been a frequent eater here because it WAS great but will NOT return. Prices have gone thru the roof and the host blew it for me on a special birthday nite. Made a reservation over 2 weeks in advance for a particular table. Upon arrival he claimed there was NO such rez for that table and that it was being held for someone else. When I expressed my disappointment he got very SNIPPY with me and said he had a very nice table but it in fact was in the busiest traffic section of the room. Unacceptable. Restaurant was packed and overly NOISY...I had requested the table when I did specifically because it was in a quiet corner in the front of the establishment. Needless to say it went downhill from there. 32 dollars for 3 scallops? Oh, my. That was one of the specials. Who asks how much when a dish is recommended? 15 dollar corkage? Geeze. Our waitress was sweet, but the house was packed and there were only 2 and they became very stressed as the evening progressed. Yes, we were very neglected and not the only ones. Our wine ran out and it took 20 min to get someones attention to open our 2nd bottle. Food took far too long to get. So long, Prosecco. Step up to the plate and be professional and do what it takes to keep your all your...
Read moreMy wife and I dined here with two of our friends yesterday and from the service to the food - everything was absolutely amazing! We were greeted by the GM, Eric. Eric was super nice, very well mannered, and even made a little small talk to just warm the welcome that much more. Our waitress Kami was on the ball from the time we sat down until we left. Our waters were always full, our drinks were always refilled. She allowed me to taste a couple of different wine samples until I found one I liked best. Although she was wearing a mask, I could tell she was always smiling. The food - the food was out of this world. Los Angeles or Southern California doesn't particularly yield good Italian food but Prosecco's is a true anomaly. I had the bolognese ragu with penne and WOW - the amount of flavor in this dish was incredible. I couldn't get enough of it and even though I was so full, probably could have ate another dish because of how enjoyable it was. The meatballs, by the way, delicious! It's a smaller restaurant but it doesn't feel that way - and the level of service is that of a Mastro's but with more personality and warmness. I can't recommend this restaurant enough if you're looking for excellent Italian food backed by tremendous...
Read moreI was just at Prosecco Trattoria for dinner, and an interesting thing happened. A woman attempted to PARK in the white 'loading zone', at which time Prosecco's manager Eric calmly went outside to point out to her that she was parking in a LOADING ZONE... and did I mention that she MOVED THE PROSECCO sandwich sign which is IN THE LOADING ZONE so she could park where she's not allowed??? Eric was, as always, kind and professional, at which time the woman lost her mind, begrudgingly moved her car (still left about 18 inches in the white, because, you know, SHE CAN DO WHAT SHE WANTS), and proceeded to storm to a neighboring business while giving Eric the FINGER!! At NO TIME did Eric respond in ANY way but kindly and professionally, and he returned to the restaurant and calmly served the patrons with a smile on his face. This woman then posted a 'review' blasting the food - how would she know, since she NEVER ENTERED THE RESTAURANT??!?!? I can say with complete certainty that the food at Prosecco Trattoria ROCKS, as well as the wine, AND THE SERVICE. Make a point to come and enjoy this neighborhood gem as soon and as often...
